Peter and Paul are the two hands of Christ after his ascension in to Heaven. St. Peter recognized Jesus identity – as Messiah in a very supernatural way. It is not easy to recognize Jesus as Messiah unless a supernatural revelation from God . When we have a close relationship with Jesus , God the Father pours out his love the Holy spirit upon them and this love reveals the secrets of the kingdom of God. The most secret of the Kingdom of God is to know Jesus Christ as he is , who he is and what he is . The realization of this identity of Messiah follows with the mission of Messiah. St. Peter left everything and followed him and died as a Martyr. It is like a person finds a precious Pearl and sells everything to buy that precious pearl and that pearl becomes his everything in life.

St.Paul got a vision of Christ not in a relationship with Jesus but in persecution to Jesus. St. Paul was ignorant or blinded of the Zeal for the Law. There was nothing wrong in his Zeal for God of his time and as a Pharisee. Jesus shows mercy upon him and reveals himself to this Young man his real nature and gives him the interpretation of the Law in the Light of the Holy spirit, Soul becomes Paul. Every person who is born in flesh must transform and take second birth in the Spirit of God. St. Paul is the main architect to build the Body of Christ specially the Gospels and Epistles in the Bible which changed Kings and Princes, Scientists and Philosophers, Merchants and Soldiers. St. Paul considered his physical death was a gain to meet his divine Master because he had overcome the fear of death.

The revelation or the transformation experience is must for every Christian who wants to follow Christ otherwise the journey with Christ may lead to a wrong destination. If a follower of Christ not able to see the Master and guide , as he is, he or she will not be able follow him and listen to him. There will be so much confusion in the Christian journey , God can not work in their lives because their ways do not align with the ways of Christ. If a Christian not born in the Spirit like Peter and Paul he or she will not be able to do the mission of Christ. Ministry starts with a Revelation or Transformation in the Spirit of God. Many people serve Christ but very few people serve the real body of Christ in this World.

As Jesus got into a boat, his disciples followed him.
Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea,
so that the boat was being swamped by waves;
but he was asleep.
They came and woke him, saying,
“Lord, save us!  We are perishing!”

Today’s Gospel is a good piece to go back to our past tragedies which has wounded us and harmed to our personality, dignity and justice. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday , today and forever. When we call on to him for our childhood / adolescent / youth wounds , he goes back to our past and heals all those wounds and once again there will be peace and calmness in our life. No medical Science can efficiently wipe out the scars of the past . Jesus himself is the peace of our life,we must lean on him every time , every situation , there is nothing impossible for the man who commanded the Sea to calm down. The greatness of our Lord must be shown in profound faith and love towards him.

Loving and believing him is trusting on his teaching the Word of God. If we keep his Words and believe in them there is nothing in this World which can trouble us in the Presence of the Creator. We must practice these things in our Worldly circumstances , which increase our faith and love.

Prayer: Lord set reminder in my mind to call on to you every time of our trouble so that you will hold our hand lead us to peace and calmness of our life.

TO DO TODAY: Let us offer that one Circumstance or Wound or Sin which troubles us every time in our life.

GOD WARNS THE DOUBLE STANDARD PEOPLE OF OUR TIME.

Consider this, you who forget God,
lest I rend you and there be no one to rescue you.
He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me;
and to him that goes the right way I will show the salvation of God.”

Prophet Amos is a prophet sent by God to correct the self righteous and Hypocrites. In the time of Prophet Amos people used to live in double standard. They used to show themselves as close to God by doing all outwardly rituals but not follow the Commandments. God speaks through prophet Amos for these people to mend their ways lest they will lose everything they were depending upon like their Wealth, Name and expose their duplicate life.

Lord Jesus Christ who is a Prophet and Messiah gives the similar kind of Warning to every person who wants to follow him. What Jesus is telling the People who want to follow him is they do not require any other security than Jesus himself. Jesus Christ is the Alpha and Omega so those who want to follow him , he is the beginning and end of every thing including Providence, Security, future, Comfort and even family and friends.

How does this message talk to us today in our modern life. Is Jesus is enough for us , if he enough for us? are we ready to sacrifice our life for our Neighbor as Jesus did in his ministry of Salvation. No Disciple is greater than his master. Jesus is calling us to detest everything on which we depend upon and hold on to him and row the boat trusting him and believing him not just like a leader but as a Master and Creator of Heaven and Earth.

Prayer : Lord Jesus hold my Hand so that I may not fall in to Temptations. Amen.

TO DO TODAY: TAKE A STEP IN FAITH WITH THAT ONE THING WHICH YOU ARE STRUGGLING ALL YOUR LIFE FEARING THE CONSEQUENCES OF LOSS AND FEAR.

EVERY CHRISTIAN IS CALLED TO LOVE AND SERVE IN HIS MISSION.

For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement,
namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

St. Paul in the Epistles says if we love our Neighbor as we love ourselves we fulfill all the Commandments of God. Catholic theology is the combination of Faith and Love. Faith is the motivator which drives us to love our Neighbor. God loved us first and equipped us with all the gifts and fruits of the Holy-spirit. This anointing or the leading of the Holy spirit must be lived in our practical life. When Disciples were filled with the Holy spirit , the Holy spirit led them to a specific mission in their life. Some Disciples stayed in Jerusalem looking at the Administration work as Bishops , Some Disciples were given the mission of writing the Gospel and some Disciples were sent to spread good news to the end of the World.

There is no anointing without a specific mission in our life. The spiritual anointing can be compared to the Worldly appointment in a Company to do a specific goal. If a person appointed as a driver to drive the vehicle he must drive the Vehicle , if the driver fails to do the duty the management will terminate his appointment and appoint a new driver in his place. The spiritual anointing or the Baptism in the Holy spirit is also works in a similar way but in a spiritual angle. If we are anointed, we are called , if we are called , we have a specific mission. If we are called and do not do our specific mission then we do not do our duty or if I explain by language Law we do not observe the Law or fulfill Law by loving our Neighbor.Every mission is directed to love our Neighbor.

God pours out his love in our heart freely and empowers us with his love, we are given mission to pour this God’s love to specific people in this World. For some he must have put burden to work for Pro life movement , for some teaching Children , for some taking care of their own family, for some to become priest and religious, for some Social Workers and Politicians like Abraham Lincoln or Mahatma Gandhi or Nelson Mandela, for some evangelists and for some Intercessors. If we are not responsible in our Spiritual appointment by reaching out in our specific goal in love and charity but try to achieve the same in the power of Money and Power then we are failing to fulfill to love our Neighbor.

All the Commandments or the teaching of the Prophets or the Be attitudes or the anointing of Holy spirit point at us to do only one thing ,that is to love our Neighbors. If we fail in our mission or hesitate in our mission by doubting on the power of the Holy spirit in terms of protection, providence, Healing, Deliverance then we lose the anointing or the power of God. God does not take back his anointing but due to human’s lack of faith in God’s power , man cuts off from the relationship of God and not able to receive the anointing. this is the reason the Catholic Church has introduced a sacrament of reconciliation which reunites the fallen man with God and once again able to connect to the same anointing power of God.

Jesus in the Gospel says very clearly : “No one who sets a hand to the plow
and looks to what was left behind is fit for the kingdom of God.

This applies to every Christian who wanders in the Rat race of Wealth , position and power. People have lost their core goals of Spirituality and wander in the Worldly goals of life of gathering and building the Worldly Castles. These achievements in Worldly life are not the goals of the Kingdom of God. If we have achieved our goals in love and service of others then he or she will be considered as greatest in the Kingdom of God.
