If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

The Word of God is so specific and clear in it’s message that there are no two ways in it’s direction. Love of the World is enemy of God or the way of the World takes us away from God. The Worldly things entices us to possess them , this possession brings bondage in our lives and separates us from the love of God and one another. The love of Money, Body , Position make us selfish and lustful and take us away from our brothers and sisters. I know a man who was very charitable and sincere in his village went to the Middle East and came back with lots of Money , married a rich girl and built a big house but the Charity, Compassion, Sharing , Concern , sincerity was fully lost in his life, he was a changed man with big Car and lived a high profiled elite Worldly life. He started to acquire more Wealth and Prosperity in this World and love of God and Sharing and caring which was his original nature was completely forgotten and cut off from his life. Recently I heard he died with an Heart Attack . The Wealth and the World is deception , it can not give real peace and Happiness in our life but shows us a candy of happiness and leads us to the dead end cliff edge and pushes us from the cliff without having any mercy.

If we are in the Worldly attachment , the word of God says : For all that is in the world,
sensual lust, enticement for the eyes, and a pretentious life, is not from the Father but is from the world. I want to highlight following three areas of life which John in his letter talk about 1. Sensual Lust 2. Enticement for the Eyes 3. Pretentious Life.

  1. Sensual Lust : We can interpret sensual lust as an extreme desire of flesh . This is a major bondage in life when people seek extreme pleasure in the lustful thoughts of flesh of the body, they come in to this Bondage. Extreme Sexual desires, Extreme desire for food , intoxication of the Body with alcohol and drugs, extreme care of the Body with beauty therapies or Body Building are some of the examples of these lustful sensuality. Lust is not natural desire but unnatural and excess desire of something which is not natural. The Natural love is the plan of God but if the human does not take pleasure in the natural Law and goes beyond with all unnatural ways then he adopts his own or evil ways of this World which are not natural. When we talk about World , it does not relate on natural resources given to us to use for our daily living and consumption. Natural love or earning our daily bread or exercising and consuming good food for good health is not coming in this context because they are as per the Natural Law and God’s plan. When we move away from the natural ways of life in to extreme or unnatural ways we move away from God’s ways and his love.
  2. Enticement for the Eyes: Eyes are the main gateway for the Good and Evil to enter in our life. Eyes represent the mind , mind is very deceptive if we do not control it with self or evil ideas , it brings negative and rebellious behavior in our life . False ideologies , beliefs , pride of life take us away from the original plan of God. We can polarize, hyper, hybrid, tone, transgender , manipulate , test tube ,change, bribe, cheat the natural but we have to ask ourselves by doing all these things do we achieve what we aim at or are we happy in our life. I bet with you, 100% percent of these people lose original happiness and embrace false happiness and enter in to cursed life because there is so much labor and stress in their adopted life , they can not cope with it and finally their life ends in despair and depression.
  3. Pretentious Life: Pretension or living double standard life is the inspiration of the World. If we act which we are not and show that we are something different is going against the original nature of our life. If we want to pretend let us pretend as per the Word of God because the word of God does not contradict our natural self but refines us into finer and brings us in to perfection. Our lifestyle is depending upon the education , Science and technology of our time which teach us how to talk, how to walk, what to eat and how to love . We are in a culture of imitation and pretension. The true high quality values are forgotten and we are compromising low quality of life and call ourselves high profile, elite lifestyle , educated so on. These life styles not only take us away from God but also from each others, it causes divisions in the society and create our own boundaries in our life.

Let us live as we are , if we are poor or rich, beautiful or ugly, Fair or dark, Worldly educated or Worldly illiterate , we are all master piece of the Creator and he has created us in that shape and state and let us not change that shape or state but live in that shape and state to give glory to God. If we are farmers let us renew the farming Industry and give glory to God, if we are Carpenters let us renew the Carpentry and give glory to God , let us not imitate the World with it’s enticements and allures which make us unnatural and take us away from God.

Prayer : Lord deliver us from the love of the World Amen.

When the magi had departed, behold,
the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said,
“Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt,
and stay there until I tell you.
Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.”
Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night
and departed for Egypt.
He stayed there until the death of Herod,
that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled,
Out of Egypt I called my son.

Who are the Herod’s, Josephs, Angels and Innocent Victims of the Modern World . We need not look for this People in the far off or darkest places of this World but in our own families. The Herod’s are the materialistic , greedy and modern lifestyles of our time to which we idolize and imitate in our lives. Angels are the true Christian values of our time and Josephs are those who follow these values in their life. The Holy Innocents are every Child and poor in this World. We knowingly or unknowingly draw our Children in to materialism. greed and modern lifestyles which kills and destroy our Children. Parents must follow the Christian Values first then the Civil Values . Civil Values are generally made in the interest of larger Numbers and Civil Law is not forcing any Individual to abide to the Civil Law made in the interest of the larger public. These laws are mainly made in the interest of the Larger public who do not have a true Law of life. Christians have a eternal Law of love, justice, life , peace and Charity which supersedes all the Civil Laws and Human Rights of this World and superior to the values of the Civil Law.

Parents victimize their Children by dragging them in to Herod’s Den to kill and destroy them by following the Worldly Culture of Prosperity and better lifestyle. The Civil Law and all legislation’s are designed according to this Culture. Civil Law is a secular in the Broader sense or a provision to adjust all people under one platform. When we follow the Civil life of this World we indirectly follow the Culture of Pagans or Non Believers for whom the Civil Law has been designed or bound due to their rebelliousness. The practicing Christians are above the Civil Law and Christian values can not contradict the Civil Laws, in fact Civil Laws are made on the guidance of the Moral Law or Natural Law but not literally but twisted and turned as per the interest of the People of that place.

The Secular Culture is destroying our Children . The modern values contradict the True Values or Christian Values. Children of our time ask their Parents what is wrong in living together in Teen age, sex in Teen age or abortion in Teenage. They say it is our mutual consent and we are not harming or going against anyone’s Will. True love for each other can not be expressed before coming in to maturity or with sex with moral partner or respect for life. The universe has a natural Law and we must respect it , if we do not then the nature itself bounces back on us to bring back its originality.

Family is the hub of love , care and charity , if Family loses the substance of love and embrace Herod’s of Prosperity, then our Children are deeply affected by these Herod’s. Herod only comes to kill and destroy either it may Money, Education, Migration, Business or better lifestyle. Children must be taught the true values of life and then leave them to choose their own career , a Child who knows the true values of life never will choose a wrong career or bad citizen of this World but understands and contributes good things to the Society. If we give our Children only Worldly things without true values then definitely these Children will be tricked by Herod’s of this World and will not become good citizens of this World because they do not have the understanding and capacity to discern the right and wrongs of this World.

St. Joseph obeyed true Values of his life through an Angel and acted upon by taking child Jesus to a distant land of Pagans Egypt by sacrificing his own Country and living like a refugee for the Salvation of his Son and family. As we celebrate the Year of St.Joseph let us imitate him by sacrificing our Worldly goals like money, better lifestyles and prioritize Gods Salvation plan in our Family . Let us listen to the Church teachings which represent the Angel of our time to live in love , forgiveness and sharing in the time of this Pandemic.

Parents are ambassadors of Gods love in their family. Let us witness our Children in love than teaching them in Words , force and discipline . We have to live in light and light will shine brightly in our family and no darkness can prevail the light. If there is no light in our family then we must evaluate our lives and see any offense against the love of God. Material and fleshly love is the major offenses of our time which we pass on to our Children and put them in the Bondage, in fact we are willingly hand over our Children to Material Herod and Fleshly Herod to kill them and thus become co partners in the Massacre which is happening today. Gods word need to be understood in our time and we have to take call in the New Year otherwise Nature will bring many Pandemics to bring the Earth to its original nature or a call to Repentance.

Prayer : Lord Teach us to love , Forgive and Share. Amen.

Repent and Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, is the message for Christmas 2020

Lo, I will send you
Elijah, the prophet,
Before the day of the LORD comes,
the great and terrible day,
To turn the hearts of the fathers to their children,
and the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and strike
the land with doom.

Elijah and John the Baptist were Prophets of Repentance , these Prophets proclaimed the good news to prepare a way for the Lord. Elijah stopped the sky from Raining from Two and a half years and brought a drought in the land of Israel so that the People may come to the Lord. John the Baptist proclaimed the Good news to repent and straighten the ways to receive the Messiah in their Hearts.

Church gives us these readings to prepare ourselves to reconcile with our maker and with our fellow Brothers and Sisters who have been created in God’s image. Christmas is a time of reconciliation and forgiveness. We must make a list of our offences which do not please God in our lives specially the idols of materialistic , Egoistic and intellectual idols of our life which lead us to sin against our Maker and one another. God wants us to depend upon him fully and in everything in our lives. He wants his glory and honor and can not share his glory with any material things. When Israelite’s forgot their maker and got involved in eating , drinking , buying and selling and loathed in their worldly life. God inspired Elijah to warn through Drought , Epidemic , Pandemics so that people may come in to their senses from the Worldly idols in which they depended upon which could not save them from these troubles. John the Baptist was such a Prophet who lived in complete obedience and poverty in penance so that Worldly idols can touch him , he targeted the Levitates, Scribes, Pharisees and even King Herod and exposed their Hypocrisies so that they may turn away from their double standard life and live a life of obedience to the Gospel.

We lived a year long Pandemic and saw many things in this Pandemic. Is it a Coincident as journalists and TV Channels point out that it repeats for every Hundred Years. There are no Co incidents in God’s ways because God’s ways are perfect and designed before the creation of the World. When we go against the ways of the Gospel , the nature tries to bring us back to Gods ways or remind us to be obedient to the Commandments of God , we call these ways of Natural Law as Pandemic. There is Evil in the Pandemic because this Evil we willingly accepted in our lives and clung upon it , God exposes the Evil Ways of this World and its limited power through the Nature.

Calamities , Pandemics, Sicknesses, Losses, accidents in our life are reminders to repent and make peace with God and one another. Christmas is a beautiful time to ponder on our life and see those areas which do not please God and one another. An Act of Confession through sacrament of reconciliation and more importantly forgive and ask forgiveness with our fellow Brothers and Sisters the living church in our lives. When we repent and Forgive and give and share specially to the people of our family, Neighborhood, Office, friends who are affected in this Pandemic , Christmas message of our prophetic time will be fulfilled and the Messiah, God the Emmanuel will come in our lives . Try to enter in to a culture of Repentance, Praying ,Giving, forgiving and sharing in this time of Christmas.

Prayer : Have Mercy on me God and Blot out all my transgressions. Amen.

 ‘Thus says the LORD:
Should you build me a house to dwell in?’“

David thought in his success as a King that it is he who is building the Kingdom of God. God reminds him his past days as a lowly Shepherd in the Pasture and all the success and victory given by God himself. David was available in obedience but rest of the work was done by the Lord. Many people who have experienced the Lord want to do many things for the Lord in their life but God carries his mission. David wanted to build a Temple with Bricks , Wood and all the good things of this Earth and his Son Solomon built it with all Splendor but the question is did God live in that temple of Solomon. Solomon himself disobeyed God and built Temples to other God and offered sacrifices with his Foreign Wives. God does not live the temples built by man but in the heart of every person. The arch of the Covenant was hidden by the Prophets but this Arch of the Covenant was revealed in the new Testament in the scriptures through Mary who obeyed the Word of God and unfolded the hidden Covenant through her availability and obedience. This is the reason we call her Arch of the Covenant. David and Mary were special People who God chose and anointed to obey the Word of God and used them to establish the Kingdom of God on this Earth. David thought he could build a temple to God as a thanksgiving to his Victories and success but God reminds him that he is only an instrument in the hands of God and God himself will build a temple which will be built from the shoot of Jesse Davids Father a everlasting temple and his Kingdom will have no end. God is talking about Jesus who was a descendant of David through Joseph and Mary.

If we evaluate the response of David and Mary , Mary considered herself as the Handmaid of the Lord and not as a queen . David the shepherd developed a thought of a King and forgot his old days as a Shepherd. Mary lived as a handmaid of the Lord from the Manger till the formation of the church the Pentecost , this is the reason she has been made queen of Heaven and earth through her Assumption and Coronation. Jesus has built the Church by anointing the Holy spirit upon the people who obey him. The People of obedience is the real Church in this World, all the Buildings and institutions are a supporting functions to help to build the Church. If we concentrate on Numbers, Structures and not the People of good will then all our efforts in this Earth will be a waste like King David , King David was refused to build the Temple for the Lord and his life was over with his ancestors.

prayer : Lord Jesus, make me a handmaid of the lord in good times and bad times of my life. Amen

Doing the Will of God in our life like St.Joseph.

December 18 2020- Friday of the Third Week of Advent

https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/121820.cfm

When Joseph awoke,
he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him
and took his wife into his home.

St. Joseph did the complete will of God though he had many doubts and challenges to accept Mary and Jesus in his life. The Gospel does not give us the complete records of his struggle so that we reflect upon the struggle of Joseph to join our struggles and challenges to do and sacrifice our own agendas to accomplish the Will of God in our life. Doing the will of the Father is an art of living or a lifestyle routed in faith. The Word of God and working of the Holy spirit are the main attractions of this lifestyle. There are Roller Coasters in this lifestyle like in the life of St. Joseph , Roller-coasters are always make people alive and thrills them, Children like to sit on the Roller Coasters because they know the thrill. St.Joseph had many up and downs in his life but in his entire life he sought the will of God in his life. The Angel of God started to guide him at every point in his dream and he obeyed the Angel of God.

We the Children of God must adopt this lifestyle of faith and not the lifestyle of Kitty Party and Gated Community. When we depend upon the mighty power of God we will be elevated to the mountain of God’s Holiness. Gated Communities witness many Suicides from the high rise Buildings but people who believe and content with God’s Blessing can accept all things from the hands of God. Jesus Christ only can teach people the real lifestyle and as Christians we must adopt this lifestyle. In the old testament when Israelite’s ,the chosen people of God started living on their own lifestyle by depending upon the Material things and Material Gods they lost the protection and providence of God but when they realized their mistake and came back to God with repentance God showed great love and mercy by punishing their enemy and miraculously saving them from the Enemies.

Friends believe me there is no life other than Jesus, I have experienced in my own life trying to experience best things and places of this World but at every better lifestyle there is a cliff, a dead end to remind us that this World is the dead end and there a life of faith beyond it. St. Joseph could have become a richest Carpenter of this World by introducing his Furniture to the end of the World because he had good skills of a Carpenter but he chose rather to accept Jesus and Mary the plan of salvation and earn his daily bread as a daily Wage Worker or a Village Carpenter. We must ask ourselves today , are we giving more priorities over our profession than our Christian calling to be a Christian Parent or Christian Child. Prosperity and better Worldly lifestyle is not the goal of a Christian but to become a loving , caring, forgiving, sharing, sacrificing person by trusting in Jesus mercy and love.

Prayer : Lord Jesus, bring me in to my senses. Amen

We will celebrate the Year of Saint Joseph with a Novena of Prayers for Consecration to Saint Joseph.

It was a joy to include you in our first Consecration to Saint Joseph last April. Consecrations should be renewed annually, and this year there will be special blessings attached to it because it’s the Year of Saint Joseph!

It begins January 16 and will end with a consecration on January 24, the Feast Day of Saint Francis de Sales who had a fervent devotion to Saint Joseph and avidly encouraged others to rely on Saint Joseph. With this novena, we seal ourselves as children of Saint Joseph, placing into his fatherly protection ourselves, our families, our jobs and ministries, and the Church. We also consecrate to his fatherhood those who are not following Christ, especially our own family members, because Joseph’s desire in heaven is that all of his children love his son, Jesus, and follow him to everlasting life.

If you would like to join us for this novena, simply remain subscribed to this elist. Otherwise, please use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of this email.

Meanwhile, read “Saint Joseph as the Image of God’s Fatherhood” from the book “30 Days to the Father’s Heart“. If this chapter ministers to you, go to the home page of the book’s website and read it from the beginning. It’s a journey of healing from wrong images of God as Our Father.

Matthew 21:28-32

For then will I remove from your midst
the proud braggarts,
And you shall no longer exalt yourself
on my holy mountain.
But I will leave as a remnant in your midst
a people humble and lowly,
Who shall take refuge in the name of the LORD:

Today’s readings specifically points out to those people who God called as his own and given a ministry of love and humility. One of the sentence touched me from the first reading : And you shall not exalt in my Holy Mountain. People of God has a tendency of thinking themselves superior compared to the people of the World. Preachers , Priests ,Religious, Holy men and Women of God can develop Spiritual Pride in their attitude, Jesus is reminding us his beatitudes today in the time of Advent to become Spiritually poor and adopt Humility , gentleness and meekness. The people of God in the old testament like Moses, David, Abraham were very humble though they encountered God personally and communicate with him face to face. St. Joseph and Mother Mary were perfect examples of righteous Parents of Jesus who considered themselves just like any other people of the World though they encountered God personally and were main People to carry out the plan of Salvation in this World.

We need to understand what is the true meaning of being Spiritually poor. We have a perfect example of Jesus , the Word of God and second person of the Trinity taking the form of a Human and living in the human poverty with St.Joseph the Carpenter and Mother Mary the House wife , his companions were illiterate fishermen, Prostitutes, Tax Collectors who were outcast in the Society. If the richest person of this World living in the slums of Africa, India or Bangladesh through out his life is what called being poor in heart. Mother Theresa did this in her life, Pope Francis is trying to live this life, St.Francis of Assisi lived this life and all the Saints of the Church have lived this life of poverty.

The Counterfeit of Humility is false Humility , acting like a humble person but within there so much Pride, Rebelliousness and disobedience . The Pharisees and elders of the synagogue were actors of humility or of agents of false humility , with in their heart there was so much Greed, Anger, and Pride. In this time of preparation to receive Jesus in our life, we must cleanse our heart from these double standard behavior. When we wish happy Christmas or send a Christmas greeting , we must ask a question to ourselves do we really mean what we say and greet. The humility gestures like Hello ..Hi.. Sorry..thank you. Good day .must come from the heart otherwise these words are a big insult to the person. Christmas is becoming Spiritually and materially poor by serving our relatives and friends like Jesus cared for his Parents, brothers and Sisters and his followers and Friends. Let us become humble before God and one another in this time of Christmas.

Prayer : Lord Jesus make poor and humble in heart Amen.

False Prophets of our time

Monday of the 3rd week of Advent
Memorial of Saint John of the Cross
December 14, 2020

https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/121420.cfm

If we say ‘Of heavenly origin,’ he will say to us,
‘Then why did you not believe him?’
But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ we fear the crowd,
for they all regard John as a prophet.”

The non Believers in Jesus Christ have many arguments , they always want to see the perfection in the teachings of Christ. Arguments are a sign of unbelief , if someone wants to seek Jesus in perfection they must study Scriptures and its writings and Prophesies and use them in their life. Arguments are demonic and Evil , it creates doubt in peoples mind and cause division. Many False Christian denominations , Cults and other faith groups use these tactics to scatter the followers of Christ. The Devil used this tactic to tempt Eve the Mother of all Creation. The Witness of the faithful and the Scriptures clearly show us the real face of God but people need to have a reason , not to believe because if they believe in the light of the Gospel, they are exposed because they live in darkness . We see many atheists using these tactics in their approach when they encounter Christians. It is best to avoid these People and pray for their deliverance from Evil possession.

False Prophets are self made Prophets and followers of these false Prophets invite great bondage in their life so we must discern the right Spirit in their teachings . There are three areas to discern false Prophets or Preachers. 1. False prophets are like hired Men and there is no love in their Heart 2. False Prophets do not follow what they preach 3. False Prophets avoid Crosses in their life and run away from them.

Prayer : Lord Jesus , Keep us away from all False prophets and false ideologies of our times. Amen.

May the God of peace make you perfectly holy
and may you entirely, spirit, soul, and body,
be preserved blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The one who calls you is faithful,
and he will also accomplish it.

Advent is a time to retain and regain Holiness . When we speak about Holiness it can be Body, mind and Spirit. Let us reflect upon these Holiness today to have deeper insights in these areas of our life.

  1. Holiness of our Body : Our Bodies are tabernacles of the living God . When we reflect upon our Body we must reflect upon the five senses of Body i.e. Sight, Smell, Voice, Material and Taste. It is good to reflect upon the senses one by one. The darkness or Unholy desires or Evil one, enter in to our Body through these five senses. These are the doors or entry of our Body. If we discipline our Eyes to see good things of these World , the goodness enters in our Body but if we use our eyes to see filthy things of this World we invite the Evil in our Body. The Evil comes to destroy and Kill so most of the sicknesses of our Body are associated with our Bad habit or Weaknesses of our senses. For example if we do not sleep on time and use our eyes to watch late night exotic or horror movies , it is for sure that the next day will be full of horror and lustful. In the same way smell or taste , if we smell the alcohol and take pleasure in it , it ruins our health and family. The Gluttons become poorer and lazy live only to eat , drink and make merry and die in Diabetes ,Stroke, Heart Attacks or Cancer. Materialism has consumed our desires to feel good in Worldly luxuries and depend upon them and get addicted to the better living. This brings despair and stress because there is no end to the Material things in this World. Nepolean discovered the whole World but could not live in any Country that he discovered for more than 15 Days. King Alexander who won the kingdoms of the Whole World died with empty hands put out in his Coffin to show the World that he has taken nothing from the World. When we list Bad voices of this World and believe in their ideologies and false Prophets we are trapped by the Evil and come in to Bondage in our lives. When we guard our five senses not to sense the filthy things of this World we stay healthy or Holy in our Body. St. Paul says to thank in all circumstances of our life and refrain from every Evil . Human Body is the Product of the Creator and designed to accept good things and throw the rubbish from our life. When we are thankful in all circumstances of our life , we humble our five senses before our maker to the Will of God. If we do not have any moral values in our lives then it is impossible to control our senses because we do not have a Manual to tell us what is good and bad for our Body. We take our Worldly Physical education which is partly Based upon the Word of God teach us to live a life on Worldly point of view and manipulate our body to live a better standard of life. When we relate with our Maker through his Prophetic utterances of the Past and daily relationship through personal Prayer we are enlightened with an understanding of our Heart through the Wisdom of God. This Wisdom is Christ himself who is the Creator and maker of the Universe and the will of God. Worldly education teaches us how much to eat and how to eat , when to eat, what to eat but Wisdom tells us why we need to maintain disciple in our diet.

2. Holiness of our Mind: Emotions, Memory, Will , Reasoning, Imaginations are the main senses of mind. Most of the temptations start from the mind because mind is like a radar of our Body, if it catches bad Waves the Body responds to these Bad waves. Good Emotions like love, joy, Peace are the good emotions but anger, resentment, fear are the bad emotions of our life. Bad emotions make us sick mentally and Spiritually. Forgiveness and reconciliation are the best remedy to have good balance in our Emotions. Good Memories, Good Imaginations, right reasoning brings goodness in our lives. Bad Memories must be erased through daily examination of the conscience. St. Paul gives us a remedy to rejoice and thank always in all Circumstances. The Evil ways are the mountains and curvy roads which blocks the Savior to Come in to our heart. Our mind has a capacity to decide what is right and wrong and we must depend upon the Wisdom to decide what is right and wrong . Prayer, scriptures direct us to do the Will of God,the right reasoning of our mind will reveal why we are Born in this World. The meaning of life is revealed in our life. We must think positive and hope in Christ in his love Salvation.

3. Holiness of our Spirit : Faith, Hope, Praise, Worship and Zeal are the senses of the Spirit. Faith and Hope are important ingredients of Christianity . If we do do not trust in the Lord and hope in his promises then our trust will be a big waste . If we trust him and hope in his goodness then we Praise him and Worship him in all the things of our life. Zeal to serve him and for his Church makes us true Children of God. The evangelisation and Charity are two main components to bring glad tidings to the People who live in darkness and poverty. If we are Spiritually dead and active in Body and Mind , we can not call ourselves Christians. Our main purpose of being in this World to give glory to God through Praise , Worship, thanksgiving with Joy in all Circumstances. Advent is a season of Hope , how difficult or hopeless the situation may look like, Jesus Christ is the hope who can recreate the things through the Holy spirit. Faith transforms us as the Children of God. Christians must come our of their Houses and reach out to the whole World to demonstrate the love of God which they experienced in their life.

All Christians possess the prophetic Spirit of John the Baptist and called to prepare the Way for the Savior in their lives and lives of others. In this preparation to receive Emanuel, let us reflect upon all our senses how we have prepared to receive Christ in our lives. If we prepare well, Christ will be our Hope and give us best gifts of the Spirit , a Hamper filled with Jasper, Gold, Pearls, Safire, Silver .which is Baptism of fire of his love.

Prayer: Maranatha,Come Lord Jesus Come.

Pope Francis proclaims “Year of St Joseph”

Pope Francis proclaims “Year of St Joseph”

With the Apostolic Letter “Patris corde” (“With a Father’s Heart”), Pope Francis recalls the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. To mark the occasion, the Holy Father has proclaimed a “Year of Saint Joseph” from today, 8 December 2020, to 8 December 2021.

In a new Apostolic Letter entitled Patris corde (“With a Father’s Heart”), Pope Francis describes Saint Joseph as a beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, an accepting father; a father who is creatively courageous, a working father, a father in the shadows.

The Letter marks the 150th anniversary of Blessed Pope Pius IX’s declaration of St Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. To celebrate the anniversary, Pope Francis has proclaimed a special “Year of St Joseph,” beginning on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception 2020 and extending to the same feast in 2021.

Church grants plenary indulgence for year of St. Joseph

The Holy Father wrote Patris corde against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, which, he says, has helped us see more clearly the importance of “ordinary” people who, though far from the limelight, exercise patience and offer hope every day. In this, they resemble Saint Joseph, “the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence,” who nonetheless played “an incomparable role in the history of salvation.”

A beloved, tender, obedient father

Saint Joseph, in fact, “concretely expressed his fatherhood” by making an offering of himself in love “a love placed at the service of the Messiah who was growing to maturity in his home,” writes Pope Francis, quoting his predecessor St Paul VI.

And because of his role at “the crossroads between the Old and New Testament,” St Joseph “has always been venerated as a father by the Christian people” (PC, 1). In him, “Jesus saw the tender love of God,” the one that helps us accept our weakness, because “it is through” and despite “our fears, our frailties, and our weakness” that most divine designs are realized. “Only tender love will save us from the snares of the accuser,” emphasizes the Pontiff, and it is by encountering God’s mercy especially in the Sacrament of Reconciliation that we “experience His truth and tenderness,” – because “we know that God’s truth does not condemn us, but instead welcomes, embraces, sustains and forgives us” (2).

Joseph is also a father in obedience to God: with his ‘fiat’ he protects Mary and Jesus and teaches his Son to “do the will of the Father.” Called by God to serve the mission of Jesus, he “cooperated… in the great mystery of Redemption,” as St John Paul II said, “and is truly a minister of salvation” (3).

Welcoming the will of God

At the same time, Joseph is “an accepting Father,” because he “accepted Mary unconditionally” — an important gesture even today, says Pope Francis, “in our world where psychological, verbal and physical violence towards women is so evident.” But the Bridegroom of Mary is also the one who, trusting in the Lord, accepts in his life even the events that he does not understand, “setting aside his own ideas” and reconciling himself with his own history.

Joseph’s spiritual path “is not one that explains, but accepts” — which does not mean that he is “resigned.” Instead, he is “courageously and firmly proactive,” because with “Holy Spirit’s gift of fortitude,” and full of hope, he is able “to accept life as it is, with all its contradictions, frustrations and disappointments.” In practice, through St. Joseph, it is as if God were to repeat to us: “Do not be afraid!” because “faith gives meaning to every event, however happy or sad,” and makes us aware that “God can make flowers spring up from stony ground.” Joseph “did not look for shortcuts but confronted reality with open eyes and accepted personal responsibility for it.” For this reason, “he encourages us to accept and welcome others as they are, without exception, and to show special concern for the weak” (4).

A creatively courageous father, example of love

Patris corde highlights “the creative courage” of St. Joseph, which “emerges especially in the way we deal with difficulties.” “The carpenter of Nazareth,” explains the Pope, was able to turn a problem into a possibility by trusting in divine providence.” He had to deal with “the concrete problems” his Family faced, problems faced by other families in the world, and especially those of migrants.

In this sense, St. Joseph is “the special patron of all those forced to leave their native lands because of war, hatred, persecution and poverty.” As the guardian of Jesus and Mary, Joseph cannot “be other than the guardian of the Church,” of her motherhood, and of the Body of Christ. “Consequently, every poor, needy, suffering or dying person, every stranger, every prisoner, every infirm person is ‘the child’ whom Joseph continues to protect.” From St Joseph, writes Pope Francis, “we must learn… to love the Church and the poor” (5).

A father who teaches the value, dignity and joy of work

“A carpenter who earned an honest living to provide for his family,” St Joseph also teaches us “the value, the dignity and the joy of what it means to eat bread that is the fruit of one’s own labour.” This aspect of Joseph’s character provides Pope Francis the opportunity to launch an appeal in favour of work, which has become “a burning social issue” even in countries with a certain level of well-being. “there is a renewed need to appreciate the importance of dignified work, of which Saint Joseph is an exemplary patron,” the Pope writes.

Work, he says, “is a means of participating in the work of salvation, an opportunity to hasten the coming of the Kingdom, to develop our talents and abilities, and to put them at the service of society and fraternal communion.” Those who work, he explains, “are cooperating with God himself, and in some way become creators of the world around us.” Pope Francis encourages everyone “to rediscover the value, the importance and the necessity of work for bringing about a new ‘normal’ from which no one is excluded.” Especially in light of rising unemployment due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Pope calls everyone to “review our priorities” and to express our firm conviction that no young person, no person at all, no family should be without work!” (6).

A father “in the shadows,” centred on Mary and Jesus

Taking a cue from The Shadow of the Father — a book by Polish writer Jan Dobraczyński — Pope Francis describes Joseph’s fatherhood of Jesus as “the earthly shadow of the heavenly Father.”

“Fathers are not born, but made,” says Pope Francis. “A man does not become a father simply by bringing a child into the world, but by taking up the responsibility to care for that child.” Unfortunately, in today’s society, children “often seem orphans, lacking fathers” who are able to introduce them “to life and reality.” Children, the Pope says, need fathers who will not try to dominate them, but instead raise them to be “capable of deciding for themselves, enjoying freedom and exploring new possibilities.”

This is the sense in which St Joseph is described as a “most chaste” father, which is the opposite of domineering possessiveness. Joseph, says Pope Francis, “knew how to love with extraordinary freedom.  He never made himself the centre of things.  He did not think of himself, but focused instead on the lives of Mary and Jesus.”

Happiness for Joseph involved a true gift of self: “In him, we never see frustration, but only trust,” writes Pope Francis. “His patient silence was the prelude to concrete expressions of trust.” Joseph stands out, therefore, as an exemplary figure for our time, in a world that “needs fathers,” and not “tyrants”; a society that “rejects those who confuse authority with authoritarianism, service with servility, discussion with oppression, charity with a welfare mentality, power with destruction.”

True fathers, instead, “refuse to live the lives of their children for them,” and instead respect their freedom. In this sense, says Pope Francis, a father realizes that “he is most a father and an educator at the point when he becomes ‘useless,’ when he sees that his child has become independent and can walk the paths of life unaccompanied.” Being a father, the Pope emphasizes, “has nothing to do with possession, but is rather a ‘sign’ pointing to a greater fatherhood”: that of the “heavenly Father” (7).

A daily prayer to St Joseph… and a challenge

In his letter, Pope Francis notes how, “Every day, for over forty years, following Lauds [Morning Prayer]” he has “recited a prayer to Saint Joseph taken from a nineteenth-century French prayer book of the Congregation of the Sisters of Jesus and Mary.” This prayer, he says, expresses devotion and trust, and even poses a certain challenge to Saint Joseph,” on account of its closing words: “My beloved father, all my trust is in you.  Let it not be said that I invoked you in vain, and since you can do everything with Jesus and Mary, show me that your goodness is as great as your power.”

At the conclusion of his Letter, he adds another prayer to St Joseph, which he encourages all of us to pray together:

Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,
Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted his only Son;
in you Mary placed her trust;
with you Christ became man.

Blessed Joseph, to us too,
show yourself a father
and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage,
and defend us from every evil.  Amen.

Wednesday of the Second Week of Advent

Though young men faint and grow weary,
and youths stagger and fall,
They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength,
they will soar as with eagles’ wings;
They will run and not grow weary,
walk and not grow faint.

The ways of the Kingdom of God are just opposite to the ways of the Kingdom of the World. The people who depend upon the World must lead their life in burden because the World offers temporary solution to our life. When the alternative or temporary ways give away or worn out or end in a dead end, the human who depended upon them stumble and fall . Money, Success, lifestyle, migrations, education, technology, property can secure our life for an extent but when we finish experiencing all these things , our hearts are not content with the things of this World and want to seek happiness in some other areas of life.

Happiness and satisfaction of our life does not depend upon the things of this World but is a psychological and spiritual factor to content with the things we are blessed with thanksgiving heart to the Provider. If we do not come to the point of this reflection then if we possess the whole World, we will not be content but will be burdened with the heavy yoke of this World. God challenged Nebuchadnezzar the King won the Whole World through many Prophets to be obedient to the living God but he was adamant and became insane for seven years and started eating grass of the field, after seven years he realized the mighty power of God and his eyes were opened and started acknowledging that there is no God other than the Lord Almighty and God blessed him more than before .

It is wrong to say that love, truth , justice, forgiveness do not Work in the modern World and are of old fashion. Jesus is the Way , truth and life , whoever follows his teachings lives in true peace and happiness. I know a simple Carpenter who is not a Christian but I enjoy his company more than than withe company of International Christian Preachers , I see in this Carpenter St. Joseph qualities , simple, righteous, not demanding, hard working, sincere moreover always cheerful. He has not married because he wants all his younger siblings to settle down first. There is so much joy working or to be in his Company because I can not see a glimpse of selfishness or greed in this Man. I feel ashamed of my attitude when I watch this man , then I start reflecting my attitudes with the beatitudes of Christ. Is this simple Non Christian carpenter carrying the yoke of Jesus in his life is the question which bothers me which I can not see with in me or any of the so called Born again Christians.

Jesus yoke is sacrificial love and forgiveness, if we carry the love of Christ there is nothing to compete or to win because in the love of Christ ,the loosing for the Kingdom of God is gaining for the Kingdom of God. When Abraham was separating from his Cousin Lot due to disputes among his family for possessions , Abraham gave the best choice to Lot to choose the best and fertile territory of Jordan River and he went on the opposite side. Later the fertile belt of Jordan chosen by Lot became Sodom and Gomorrah which was destroyed by God’s Anger and Abraham’s left over dry territory became the Chosen place of Jerusalem.

In our lives if we choose better living, better education, better lifestyle, better Country but if our better not clubbed with Lord’s choice then all our better will turn in to disaster in our life. I have seen so many families running for better life and end up in stress, depression and despair. World attracts people for better life but better life is not external happiness but comes from with in us from the love of God poured in to our heart. If we have this love of God( the yoke of Christ), then we can live in this World in any condition as St.Paul says: neither hunger, nor thirst, or persecutions, or even death can not separate us from the love of Christ.

People live and die for love, justice and truth , this is the real life and not a life of Prosperity and success which only gives burden and sorrow. Let us live for love of Christ by sacrificing our own life for the love Christ. Many Clergy, Religious and devout families live for Christ by sacrificing their life. There are many non Christian families live in sacrificial love like my Carpenter who live under the Natural Law which God has put in their heart from their conception. Today Jesus is calling everyone to come to the knowledge of truth and learn from him the mystery of God’s love which he revealed through his sacrificial death on the Cross.

Prayer: Lord call me in to your truth. Amen.
