Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

When I was thinking from which key word I start to reflect and walk through today’s reading , Peace of God magnified in bold letters. The Peace of God is the ultimate achievement of our life. I remember when I attended a renewal retreat I received a bubbling joy and immense Peace in my Heart at the end of the Retreat. I thought this is what I wanted, and went for a spiritual counseling to a Priest , he told me one thing that the peace you have received must be maintained or preserved all the time. I thought now I do not want anything in life and I had a unique understanding of the situations which surpassed all understanding of this World. Immediately after the Retreat there was a argument broke out among ourselves about return journey and in this argument the Peace of God vanished and again there was irritation and resentment regarding who is right and wrong.

God gives his gifts of love, Joy, Peace freely every morning if we sit quietly and feel his presence. He forgives all our trespasses of the past and gives us his grace at every time we approach him. But what is important in our life is to maintain that Peace of God in our life. The peace of God or mercy of God is the Holy spirit who comes to live with us with all his gifts, fruits and Power of God but if we nurture the Peace of God or seek the Peace God or make Peace of God or live the Peace of God or try to make Peace among ourselves and others we surpass all the understanding of this World. This is a Under Cover Spiritual Warfare which most intelligent successful People of this World can not understand. Peace is the ultimate bottom line or if I put in Business term Profit or purpose of life , if we toil our whole life doing many things but no peace in our life, we have not met the Goal or Purpose of our life.

If the most successful person of this World does not possess the Peace in his heart, all his understanding of his life or whatever he has gathered or made is a big waste or rubbish. To maintain peace we must love and forgive in our daily life. I decide everyday I will not loose the presence of holy spirit during my personal Prayer in the Morning and fill with joy, Peace and love but I am tested with my Belief at the very next moment by some or the other distraction and the presence of God leaves me or if I put it in right way I leave the presence of God and go back to the rut of this World. God wants us to bear fruits that will remain and not loose or perish. We must work on this at every moment in Prayer , Patience , self control, forgiveness and overall in peace and love.

Jesus is looking at peace of God in our Heart . Peace is the ultimate destination of our life. After our death we rest with God in everlasting Peace and God wants us to be peacemakers in our families, Society, Church, Work Place and Nations. Sunday is a day to rest in the presence of God and analyse our mistakes of the past week and draw strength from God and make peace with God. We can analyse of a person who fights, quarrels, instigates, divides and causes violence is not a peaceful person and Holy spirit can not live with this person. These are the people Jesus is talking about who kill and beat the servants of God. Jesus sends his servants in our daily life in the form of our least brothers and sisters , if we do injustice, cheat them, loot them and do all injustice , one day or for sure on the Judgement day he will throw these people to the eternal absence of God the Hell.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. As we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis the Assisi , let take him as an model who resisted the concept of Holy War and made peace with the Sultan by sacrificing his whole life for Peace, joy and Peace.

Prayer : Make me an instrument of peace.
