How long will you grieve for Saul,
whom I have rejected as king of Israel?

When people in authority fail to fulfill their duty or bias in their  dealings , God rejects those leader from the Authority. Every Christian is a Prophet like Samuel who is suppose to listen to the Lord and appoint a leader in our own time. If the Leader fails to do his duty , Lord says to find another one who is more humble and obedient to God’s Word.

Samuel was fearful to face Saul but the Lord says to anoint  a Shepherd Boy who does not have any experience or maturity. Samuel looks at the appearance of other brothers of David but God tells him not to look at the Human standards like intelligence, knowledge, personality, education so on and rejects all of them. We also make similar mistakes like Samuel in choosing our Leaders but God calls us to see the Heart or Spirit which obeys and listens to the Voice of God. Listening to the inner voice of God and obeying to the voice is the greatest wisdom on this Earth. We do not require education or any religious studies to do this but sit quietly in silence and listen to our Conscience where God speaks to us in the silence of our heart.

Every Christian or a person of truth and integrity is anointed to be a Prophet. These righteous people must decide who has to be the Leader of our nation or leader of our church, society, company so on. One of the effective way is through intercessory prayer, where we pour out our anguish and grievance of our heart   to the Lord and ask his guidance . The Lord speaks to his intercessors with a specific burden or task to carry on like Samuel  to  appoint people of obedience as Leaders to rule nations, Enterprises, Church, Institutions so on. A bad leader can disturb peace and Harmony in the Country and Society but through our constant intercession we can decide who has to be in the Authority and reject the proud and disobedient.

Every Christian has been anointed with a three fold ministry of King , Prophet and Priest to Guide, Intercede and Proclaim . If we are fearful like Samuel against the evil forces of our Society then we do not perform our duties of Baptism. We must pray and intercede against Evil legislation  and act upon the guidance of the Church to appoint a new leadership in our Country, Church or Society. If we only grieve like Samuel did in today’s first reading , the Lord is telling us to listen to him and anoint a new Leader David who had God’s heart.

In our time democracy  has turned in to Majocracy , Majority does not reveal the truth and integrity. We see in today’s World people of majority choosing their own Leader to oppress the minority and the refugees to gain their evil selfish and egoistic lifestyle. If there is no truth and true love in any leadership then that leadership becomes self centered and selfish. A true leadership is a leadership of love and service. This kind of leadership is not Bias but treats everyone equally and protects poor ,oppressed and the refugees. They are not double minded but act always fairly to everyone.

Every Leader has been appointed and commissioned with God’s Love to pass on that love to all the People but if the Leader fails to love their subordinates and oppress and persecute them then God’s hand of Anger will come upon them and they will be rejected as Leaders. Today specially pray for our Nation which is disturbed on bias legislation and  to achieve selfish agendas , may God  lead us to a Leader like David the King.

 

God Speaks to Every Human Being but failure to listen to him brings confusion and ignorance.

Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.’”
When Samuel went to sleep in his place,
the LORD came and revealed his presence,
calling out as before, “Samuel, Samuel!”
Samuel answered, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

Samuel grew up, and the LORD was with him,
not permitting any word of his to be without effect.

God always with us walking side by side like a Shadow but we are not able to realize in our life due to the busyness of our Worldly life. Sometime we realize but take them like any other Worldly   matter of our life. Sometime we take them as an coincident and ignore them. Some other time we do not understand or listen in our Spiritual ears and leave it aside as an unsolved mystery in the junk box. Every human being experiences these encounters but take them in casual attitude. Some people take them seriously and respond to the call by choosing to live as per the call.

All humans have a Conscience and the Spirit of God lives right there and  talks to us to do the right things but we do not listen and ignore the voice with in us. A prudent person always listens to the promptings of the Holy spirit who is living in him. This promptings are not limited to Christians but to every human being in this World. We can not do as we want but there is a built in system in our self who tells us what to do and what not to do.

Whenever a person is confused or disturbed in his life , it is better to go away from the Busy World and sit alone and talk to our self  what is good for us. when we withdraw ourselves from the World and listen to the voice of God , we can listen to him clearly without any distraction. Jesus in today’s Gospel withdrew himself before dawn and spent time in talking to his inner being the Father and the Son who was living in his self. Jesus listened to the Father and the Spirit and did things as per his promptings or the Will of God.

Personal prayer done before the dawn is an encounter for every human with his inner Spirit of God. When we withdraw ourselves to quiet place to listen him, he guides us and empowers us with his divine power. When we are filled with this divine Wisdom of God , we can heal , cast out demons, preach the word of God , counsel, intercede because the wisdom or power we possess is not natural  but super natural ,where natural  things do not have an answer. If we do not sit with God and try to do God’s will in our life , we are a disaster because we do supernatural things in a natural way where there is no effect.

If we do things according to God’s inspiration then every work we carry out must be effective because  God’s word works in our activity. Samuel grew up, and the LORD was with him,not permitting any word of his to be without effect. We must grow up like Samuel and the Lord will be with us not permitting any Word of his to be without effect. When God’s hand is with us , our daily life becomes a divine life full of miracles and wonders leading a supernatural life.

All religions do the personal prayers in their own traditional upbringing and  listen to the Spirit of God who lives in their heart. In all human beings the spirit of God lives and leads them and protects them , this is the natural Law , so we can not under estimate any person in this world by giving them names or calling them evil. God’s judgement is very different and human does not have the capacity to imagine or understand it, so the best thing is not to judge anyone in our life.  We must accept all humans as our brothers and sisters because the spirit of God lives in everbody , we are called to love them and support them to love more and teach them to love others as Jesus taught to love God in Personal prayer  and love others  according to his voice and power of love.

God speaks to every human being but failure to sit with him in prayer to listen to his voice and act according to his voice or inspiration brings confusion and ignorance. When a person is ignorant and confused wandering like a Vagabond , the evil spirit who wanders to plunder and destroy attacks these people and make their life miserable because they miss the direction and protection of the Spirit of God. These very people promote violence and confusion with wrong ideologies and their selfish and hatred teaching. They are purely under the influence of Evil Spirit where love does not abide in them. Every Person who loves God does not hate others but loves them and forgives them.

 

All diversified beliefs of the World are a platform to seek the real truth of life.

The  Word Epiphany relates to the people who are seeking truth or discovering  something which  does not exist in the present . We can call these people intellect or visionaries. When these people’s mind enlightens to a new realization of things which were not experienced before , the experiment becomes a discovery or an invention.

During Jesus birth same thing  happened to three Scholars- Magi who were seeking the truth . They were learning and discovering the arrival of the Savior in their own religious beliefs and  education. In fact they were looking for existence of  a true God. At the time of their studies , analyses , references, records  , they discover the exact time and place of the birth of the Savior. When they  were enlightened with the truth in their research, a supernatural Star appears and guides them to the final point of discovery of the real Savior of the World. The star appears as a confirmation of their discovery.

In our time the people who make efforts and expect to live a righteous life irrespective of  their beliefs, Nationality,Caste or Creed, the Holy spirit  encounters them in various signs and wonders and leads them to the real truth of Life Jesus Christ. The various beliefs in fact is the plan of God to seek the real truth of life. God has permitted these beliefs as a platform to seek the real truth of life. God’s encounter or revelation did not come  only to the believers but to everyone because the plan of  salvation  is for the whole World. It is like some people taking the direct route to the destination but some through round about and some through indirect routes  but all the routes one day or the other will reach to the same destination. Some may reach early , some reach late, some reach with many struggles of life but end of the day all are paid the same wages of eternal life. This is a mystery of God’s way which the human can not reason it out or debate upon , only the revelation of God’s Wisdom can solve these mysteries.

Pope Francis is walking in this revelation for many Theologians and believers it is an fundamental Error or contradicting the teachings of the Church. This is the first step by Pope Francis on inter Religious dialogues by the religious leaders.  The revelation to  the Non Believing Maggie’s about the Gospel truth  by the Spirit of God is clear indication that the other Religious beliefs are not threat to the Gospel values but a platform of research to seek the truth. It is only a matter of time and realization of truth in these religious groups and the lack of  openness among the Christian believers.

In the beginning of the Creation , all were one and belonged to the same family as brothers and sisters but as the families started growing and migrating for their daily bread and protection , the ideologies changed according to the space , time and circumstances but the reality is the whole human race is one family who believe and love their creator and one another and hate Evil.  This is the common truth , rest of the worldly differences does not matter  to God. God looks at the hearts and dwells in the hearts of love.  The feast of Epiphany or revelation of the real truth is a great feast which has to be promoted in every parish and to be celebrated with all the brothers and sisters of other faith as one Parish family. This is the real meaning of Epiphany because Jesus is not a savior of Christians but of every brother and sister of this World.

 

 

 

Truth is Revealed to the World only through Jesus Christ.

No one who remains in him sins;
no one who sins has seen him or known him. – 1 John 3:6

Today’s readings have much to say about our double minded or stereo type of life. Righteousness comes from God alone . When we focus on God’s  righteousness, Justice , mercy, peace, vindication and live a life hoping in God’s Saving power in the working of Holy spirit  in our life, we become righteous before God. The self righteous behavior makes us double minded , ritualistic and stereo type . The self righteousness is self centered life which the World has adopted in the modern World. The self discipline,self education,  self motivation, self determination, self growth are the products or processes of self righteousness which makes a man right as per his mind but not before God. But the discipline, motivation, education,determination  adopted in the  light of the Gospel and in the inspiration of the Holy spirit makes a person right before God. For example the abortion is the product or process to control population by Science or education but if it is controlled as per the church teachings through natural self controlled family planning , it becomes God centered or right before God. In the same way we who follow Christ must inculcate the values of Christ in each and every action and renounce the Worldly ways which make us self centered and sinful.

Humans do not have the capacity to know the truth because the World is in a confused state. The truth has been manipulated by Religions, Political parties, entrepreneurs, Cultures and traditions and man is in a confused state to choose the various options of truths of the World. Jesus Christ who came from God, as John Baptist witnesses his messianic approach and professes that he is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the World. The truth can come only from the author and creator of life who created all things good. So those who follow the values of Jesus Christ, always live in truth and right before God. No person can say he follow Jesus the truth and live in the lies of the World the Sin , then it is clear that he or she does not know Jesus Christ or does not know the truth. If a person knows the truth , he can not live in the lies of the World. We can not pretend in Christian life , it is dangerous to live truth and lies of the World , it is impossible to live holy and sinful lives. I have seen many people who are in the initial stage of renewal are always in a transition period where they acknowledge their sinfulness and pray for his mercy but struggle to come out of it , this stage is a process of renewal and always God’s Spirit is in control of our lives though we sin in that period because there is a spiritual warfare fought between principalities of light and darkness. But if a person lives in this transition period through out his life then  there is something wrong with his knowing of Christ or the truth. They have not encountered Jesus Christ fully but partially and then again gone back to the rut of this Worldly life. These Christians are lukewarm Christians who are Bastards as per the Worldly language who follow both God and Devil as their Father. God hates these kind of people , these are the hypocrites of Jesus time. Jesus loved sinners but was very angry upon the Hypocrites.

When we live a life in faith in Christ values  or  as per the Gospel or of the inspiration of the Holy Spirit  we are begotten or adopted by God as his sons and daughters. A self righteous person  is a self made Christian and not begotten or adopted by God and hence can not be his heir or Child of God. Many Christians do not understand this point and live a Worldly life and name themselves as prosperous , successful  and self made Christians. There can not be truth other than Jesus Christ because no person has descended from  God and  after death ascended to Heaven. No religion or Scientist or technology has descended from Heaven or resurrected from death but all have died a death of a normal human being .  Jesus Christ is the only Person who Baptizes us with the Spirit of God and takes away our sinful nature and make us divine like him. The Son of God becomes Son of Man so that Sons of Men may transform in to Sons  and daughters of God . Holy Eucharist is the symbol of this Communion between and Man and God and an act of Salvation.
