Aeluia, alleluia.
A holy day has dawned upon us.
Come, you nations, and adore the Lord.
For today a great light has come upon the earth.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

The Saviour has born for the whole world. Jesus Christ is the Savoiur of the Whole World, so the Joy, hope and Peace is not only for Christians but of the whole World. The light of Jesus shines on the dark World of hatred, selfishness, greed and brings love and forgiveness. The light shines on the Whole World, it does not limit the goodness or values but shines his light on every one.

In 2020 the message of God’s love to every one in one measure must reach out to each and every soul of this World. Those who think there is no hope in their life, there is a light shines constantly day and night on them bringing Justice, Peace , love and hope. This light is Jesus Christ.

The love of God unites and does not divide. The love of God , forgives and pacify and does not hate. The love of God gives and does not expect in return. The love of God tries to bring peace and hates violence. The love of God is Tolerant and Patient and judges no one. The love of God always there for the poor and oppressed and does not discriminate in Worldly standards.

Let us Wake up and lift our Blankets high and let the light of Christ shine upon us. He is the King of Peace the servant King who gave his life for our Prosperity and deliverance. The World is following the Strength and materialism but the light of Jesus Christ shines in our Weakness and poverty.

Let the whole World look at the Servant Crucified King and ask for his mercy and the light will shine upon the whole World. LET US ADORE THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS JESUS CHRIST.

THE MESSAGE OF JESUS IS THE ONLY HOPE WHICH CAN SAVE THE WHOLE WORLD.

Let the Lord enter; he is king of glory.
The work of the King is service of people. Jesus is called heavenly King who has come to serve us. When we talk about service, he protects us, supplies our needs, heals us, gives us Justice, makes us righteous, he teaches us to live a life of Victory, he gives us peace and there for us all the time. This is the work of a King.

During the season of his arrival in a new way, he renews us and blesses us with many Charisms and fruites of the Holyspirit. In this season, love, joy, peace and hope must bubble in our life because these are the signs that he has come in our life with a renewed Spirit.

He is the king of glory, when he enters in our life all the old gates and ways are shut and broken and new ways and doors are opened, so it is always a good time to start any new things in our life during this season because God is very close to us and we can experience him in a very personal way.

It is easier to listen to him because he tells us to go right or left or take U turn in our life. This season is a good time to do retreats and descern our confused life because we can hear him clearly. Christmas season is a season of favour and grace. It is also a season of mighty miracles and deliverance.

God puts three conditions in this season of Christmas 1. Not to drink Wine 2. Not to eat like a Glutton 3. Dedicate ourselves to the Works of God .

It is he who will begin the deliverance of Israel
from the power of the Philistines.

In the Old testament God chose some people to carry on the Work of Salvation plan. We can compare Salvation plan to a long Bridge which started before the Creation and will end at the last day of Coming of our Lord . In this Bridge of Salvation God appoints or chooses some men and women to construct his plan. God always chooses people who are poor in spirit who rely upon him fully, where there is  no other option for them than God. We have two witnesses in today’s readings, Samson and John the Baptist , both the families completely relied upon God in prayer and humbleness. God intervenes among these families and chooses these people to prepare his plan of Salvation.

God equips these great people with  Charism and lives with them in a visible manner doing mighty miracles and manifests his power. The only requirement to possess God’s spirit is to humble ourselves like Zachariah and Samson’s mother who relied upon God completely in good and bad time in worship , proclamation and  service. When we humble ourselves and hope in him, the mysteries of the Kingdom of God are revealed to us like it was revealed to Samson’s mother  and Zachariah the priest.

During the Blessings , God put some conditions to these families , not to eat unclean food and drink wine and the child to be dedicated to the Work of God. Alcohol or Wine imbalances a person mind and leads the mind to do stupid things in life. The spirit of gluttony makes the man slave of the flesh and concentrates only on the things of the flesh and not of the spirit. The working for this material World makes a man to worship the Material world and forget the Creator.

Christmas or Revelation of the Incarnation of the Son of Man  or  introduction of the Salvation plan is a time to encounter God in our life in humility and complete reliance in his mercy. In this season God encounters every human who is poor in Spirit like Zachariah and Samson’s mother and send his angels to fulfill the desires of their heart . God puts three conditions in this Season of Christmas.1. Not to drink wine.  2. Not to eat like a glutton.  3.Dedicate ourselves to God’s Work of Worship,Proclamation and Service.

O Leader of the House of Israel,
giver of the Law to Moses on Sinai:
come to rescue us with your mighty power!

In our contemporary World , we like things instant or  immediate or ready made. The online and E commerce revolution has increased the door to door service. All the Banking or  dealings or products are available online instantly, just a click and it is done.

The Bible and  Churches provide all the teachings online and live. Masses are telecasted online and many people who are not able to physically attend Church, participate the Eucharistic celebration online. I remember  one of my 90 years old Charasmatic  Aunt  watches EWTN Channel and participates the Eucharist  online and during the Communion distribution goes near the TV and receives the Body and Blood of Christ in faith. Many of my relatives found funny and called her sarcastic but for me it was a great example of faith in her age and circumstance.

Our God  has made our provision from before the foundation of the Earth and heaven to live in us and with us in each and every moment of our life. We need not switch channels or click to order God’s presence but he lives in our body, blood, breath, mind, emotions, Spirit . God has united with us and we are no more two but one body, mind and Spirit.

Christianity is a way of life which has already reached it’s destination or goal and won the victory. This victory must be celebrated with the victorious Lord in each and every action in faith , love and hope.  We possess the Spirit of God who is the giver of life and maker of heaven and Earth. A Christian  has already reached the destination and must hold the Lord tight in our hands and walk in his steps like a small child walks with the father. Once we get this art of walking in faith , love and hope, we must teach others to walk with him through our examples.

So our God is Emmanuel’   much ahead of time and space . when we think of him he is there to help us and support us.  This kind of Technology or Telepathy neither researched nor will be researched by any Worldly Scientists because it can be researched only by faith, love and hope in Emmanuel – Jesus who is with us and saves us  everywhere, every time  and every place and all the time because he is beyond time and space who live with us and in us.

Who is Lord Jesus Christ to us? Is he a historical man who is like any other historian? Is he an Iconic Image who  revolutionised  the Society with his teaching and preaching? Is he a imaginary  supernatural power who fulfills our needs like a genie?  Is he like one of our human Father or brother or teacher ?

As per my reflections , Jesus Christ is a supernatural encounter or experience in our life which transforms our life in to that experience or power.  The Apostles lived with the person of Jesus for many years but were not transformed in to his likeness , but on the day of Pentecost , they had a supernatural encounter with his Spirit and transformed in his likeness. In our life  too  we may also live with a person of Jesus through daily routines, rituals, liturgies, readings, fellowship, charity so on but, if we do not have supernatural Pentecost encounter with  his Spirit and transformed in to his likeness , we too remain Carnal or people who follow Jesus in a human figure but not as a Spiritual encounter or experience.

Early Christians experienced Jesus first then they got baptised by the Apostles by immersion  in the water and laying on Hands as a confirmation and Witness to this experience. But in our modern World , the Christianity has taken a opposite mode, people are baptised first in ritual or in a ceremony  and then grow in faith to experience Jesus in a personal encounter. Church introduced this ceremonial Baptism so that a person who want to seek Jesus experience, can grow in faith in stages through the various graces of the Sacraments and come in to the full knowledge of truth. The genealogy of Jesus which we find in today’s first reading helps us the true identity of Jesus and plan of Salvation before the foundation of the Earth. God’s every action ,in fact  the creation itself is the testimony of the saving love of God. Bible gives us the Covenant love of God through chosen race to bring the whole mankind in to the full knowledge of truth . Bible tells us the plan of Salvation the love of God was there for us right from the beginning and came in it’s fullness through Jesus Christ.

So Jesus is not an individual or a person of our stature but an experience of saving mercy of God  or an experience of Salvation or an experience of God’s Love. Jesus was born as an individual person two thousand years ago but today to experience Jesus we must encounter him in faith and hope in Spirit. We can not follow him or his teachings like other great personalities of this World but we must be one with him in Spirit. This is true Baptism or Christian ( I am Christ).  It is not enough to follow the teaching and values of Christ but must be transformed in Spirit in the likeness of Christ. This what happened to the Apostles on the day of Pentecost. When they were praying and waiting upon him by trusting his death and resurrection, the Spirit of Jesus Came upon them and transformed them in to his image and likeness.

We also must wait upon the Lord in Prayer in each and every activity by believing  in the merits of his death and resurrection to transform according to his plan. This is act of faith which every Christian must learn to live in their daily life, otherwise our daily activities no other than the normal Worldly activity which requires transformation or Salvation of Christ. This art of living Christian life is exciting because great mysteries of the Kingdom of God are revealed to the one who believes in the transformation.

Individualism blinds the God’s Words and actions.

Where was John’s baptism from?
Was it of heavenly or of human origin?

Jesus was questioned by Jews, by whose and which  authority  was he is teaching at the Synagogue. There was a process to teach the Scriptures in the Synagogue, one must go through the Law of Moses in the Temple and commissioned by the Temple authority as a Scribe who was authorized by the Temple authority to teach and preach. Jesus trespasses this process and starts teaching without the approval of the temple authorities.

We  have two areas to reflect on today’s readings , first one is obedience to the Church and the second one is obedience to the God’s Word.  If we take these two areas in the current context we may get confused which is greater than the other. The Church is the system where the God’s Word is deposited in a Bank. God’s Word is always safe when it is used in the adherence of the Church teachings. Church teachings do not contradict the Word of God but throws light in the true context. When Jews asked Jesus that question , they were not wrong but Jews could not look at the Jesus answer in the question he put on them. The question itself had the answer if the Jews had true Wisdom. In the  first reading, the spirit of God came upon Balaam and he gave voice to his oracle. Jesus and John the Baptist were Prophets through their words and deeds because they spoke the Word of God and did the Works of God. Jews should have accepted them because they were speaking the Scriptures and not contradicting them. If the Jews had the true authority of God to defend the scriptures they would be glad to listen and redeposit the treasure of life in the  Temple Treasury but they took offence towards Jesus and John as out casts in the Worldly traditional Law of Knowledge and missed the meaning of the true Law of Moses.

This is happening even today in our local Churches and Communities. We have many Prophets speaking God’s Word and doing God’s Works in our time but we take offence at them saying they are not Christians or Catholics or one of our Church member. What is important to see is if that person speaks and Witnesses God’s love, rest of the things are irrelevant or only the rules and regulations to recognise  and safeguard true fragrance of God’s love.  The ministry of Ecumenism and inter religious dialogue are the need of the hour which Church must promote to recognise the Voice of God in other faith and denominations. The individualism is the strategy of the Evil which is spreading rapidly in our nations, families, political system but true Christians must recognise  the grey areas of these system and go beyond these systems with fellowship and love. These individual Worship is an idol Worship of self  centredness  and self love which make oneself or one nation or one race as God and breaking the first and fundamental Commandment and Law given by God to Moses.

If we see worldwide the Political leaders , Entrepreneur’s, Individual Churches, promoting these individual values and winning elections , profits,  numbers in majority but in all of these actions there is no God’s love and forgiveness but hatred of our neighbor for selfishness and Pride.

The Anger of God is Consuming fire of love and mercy.

In those days,
like a fire there appeared the prophet Elijah
whose words were as a flaming furnace.

Every Prophet is a sign of God’s Working in this World and all the message spoken through the inspiration of the Holy spirit comes from God himself. Our God is a consuming fire, he consumes all the unwanted things of the World , flesh and Evil  and burns them in the eternal fire. The souls of every human is precious and purified due to the fire of the Holy spirit. Sometimes the sudden problems and natural calamities hit our life one after the other , it is a sign for us and the people around us to repent. The Axe is laid upon the bottom of the tree, every tree which does not  bear fruit will be cut of and thrown in to the fire. This is the message John the Baptist gave it to the people on the Bank of Jordan. The message of Salvation or Gospel message or God’s love or the Working of the Holy spirit makes a man holy and acceptable to God through his way of life. The Holy spirit is active in every person like active yeast when we bake the Bread. If we do not activate the yeast before mixing in to the dough or if we do nor mold the flour in to a thin dough , the dough does not rise or the whole dough of flour does not activate and soften the texture. God can work in us when we respond to the love of God the Holy spirit who lives in us. When we recognise his presence in our life and put our faith in him completely  by relying on him , our life also rises up like a bread flour where heat of the oven or fire of the holy spirit does not burn the dough but passes  through and gives a fine baking smell , color and taste but if we do not respond to God’s love , our life remains sturdy and hard , where God’s Consuming fire can not work in our life due to the hardness and non repented  heart but burns all the hardness of our life. These are the trials of our life. These are the signs to repent and not a punishment from God. God can not punish anyone , even the anger of God is full of love and a consuming fire of love which destroys the evil but bakes the bread and mold of the potter in to a fine vessel or vase of love.

Blessed are all who wait for the Lord.

Jehovah Shamah..You are always there for me. God is always there with us to protect us , lead us, heal us, cleanse us, give us peace and to make us righteous. In today’s readings God assures us to wait upon him for his justice and truth.

There are cirmumstances in our life in which we feel there is no one for us or nothing is working with us or no solution to our problem .In all circumstances we must surrender the situation in to the hands of the Lord and wait on him for the solution. We must let go off the circumastance from our heart , mind and body and wait on the Lord for his grace and mercy. In the Worldly point of view it is stupidity but God’s point of view it is prudency and Wisdom.

In most of the circumstances of our life we can not figure out the complete truth but only a partial truth and a partial truth is a lie by itself, so it is better not to focus on the circumstances which are not in our understanding but require a better understanding or a complete truth.

For Example if we are lost in the Sea and looking for a shore and from far we may figure out a figure of a tree and assume that shore is near but as we come closer to that figure the truth becomes more clearer , the figure of tree may turn out in to a ice pillar so on. We can not assume things as per our mind and jump in to a conclusion but wait for the complete truth. This is the reason many theories of Philosophers and Scientists have failed because everytime there is a new research happening and old theories proven wrong or in Error.

If we wait upon the Lord for revelation of the complete truth , Lord reveals the truth through Word of God, through God’s people, through Creation and through many Godly circumstances in our life. We must be very alert and watchful in anticipationon waiting on the Lord The requirement is completely come out of the reality for which we are waiting upon the Lord. The reality blinds us or blocks our vision to see beyond the cirmstances. If we have this art of listening and walking with the Lord, Lord guides us at every step of our life.

God want more people who wait upon him in every situation of their life. These people he sends forth on a mission to do God’s work on this Earth. It may look very foolish for some people who are talented or well educated leaving their family freinds and working for the upliftment of the poor and destitute. Jesus himself left his family and with desciples went on preaching the goodnews of the Kingdom of God from village to village. If we see and live things of the Kingdom of God in all our life circumstances we are in his Kingdom on this Earth. When we see the things of Heaven, the Worldly matters and material becomes meaningless and we focus on heavenly things and serve him and his Kingdom on this Earth.

Pray & Love must be the mission of Christian Life.

Thursday of the First Week of Advent
December 5, 2019

Today‘s Prayer:

Beloved Lord, I ask for Your forgiveness, because my actions have not always been a reflection of what You have sown in me. Amen.

Today‘s Readings:

Isaiah 26:1-6
Ps 118:1, 8-9, 19-21, 25-27a
Matthew 7:21, 24-27
www.usccb.org/bible/readings/120519.cfm

Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Today’s readings say everyone say Lord ..Lord will not be saved but only those who do the Will if the Father.

In our life all things are going to pass away but three things will remain Love, Faith and Hope. These are the sesnses of our Spirit which can not pass away because they are from the Spirit and will remain even after our physical death.

Love of God and Neighbour is the Will of God , all the other things are support functions to acheive our love relationship. If we stay at mountain top with our Spiritual realms or Spiritual experiences or Spiritual signs and Wonders then we are deceived of real vocation which is love and Charity. This is the reason Christian life is not a monastic life, but a life lived with a group of people. The God’s love must be experienced through Scriptures, prayer life but put in to action with our fellow beings. It is like driving a Vehichle, if we learn to drive in classes and get a licence to drive but do not drive a Vehichle through out our life and at the end of our life , if we call ourselves a driver then all learning and the driving licence has not value because we have not utilised that licence or Skills in our day today life. In the same way if we are Baptised and have great learning of the Scriptures and Spiritual exercises but these gifts do not put in to a ministry of love and serve the poor and oppressed then all our learnings is a waste of time because we have not connected to the living body of Christ on this Earth.

Love is believing Christ in action and the greatest level of faith, there is no faith greater than love and hope in the Lord. When we grow in faith , we grow in love and hope of Salvation. The will of God is to respond to him in love.

We see many faith centred ministries in these days but very few ministries of love. If there is no love exercised in faith ministry then that ministry will be in danger just like that house which was built on sand collapsed during trials and tribulations. Love is the output in Christian life and rest of the things are the inputs invested to acheive the output of love because Love is meeting God or God himself, which is the centre and only vocation of our life.

Families are the best of the Ministries to exercise our faith and spiritual experiences. Pray & Love must be the mission statement of our Christian life.

Meeting Point

Beyond the Horizon there is always a meeting point beween Earth and the Sky. This is the meeting point where Sun sets and moon rises to the Sky. There is a meeting point between the Earth and Heaven. We must seek God at this meeting point. In every life situation there is a meeting point between Heaven and Earth. We must go beyond the Earthly reality and meet a point where the Heavenly realm starts or reality meets to a point to a supernatural reality.

This meeting point is very important in search of God in every situation. The Natural Law inspires us to do right or do the things naturaly and in order. But World is in confusion and man is not able to understand the right order of life. The only being who can show us the right order is the Creator himself who is the author of our life. We can not see God in the busy life. We seek God in Worship places, prayer services, and in Various ministries but how to seek God in our daily activity ?. We must learn to seek God in every situation of our life. God is present in every situation either good or bad, happy or sad, holy or Evil . When we look at the situation beyond the Worldly reality which is meeting with God’s Word or image of God or mercy of God or love of God then we can see the hand of God in that situation. We must learn to reflect our daily life situations and understand the Will of God in that situation. At the meeting point we see the image of God which is the will and reality of our life and not the Worldly reality. We must see Worldly reality leading or meeting the love and truth. This is an exercise which must practice in our daily life.

For Example when we wait upon Worldly reality to subside and Heavenly realm to show , we encounter God’s hand in the situation. We must wait upon God to show his hand in every situation. The Preachers preach to wait upon the Lord but if we do not try to cooperate to forget the reality in one eye and see the invisible hand of God and his purpose in that situation we will not be able to see God in our life. God can not showup completely in the situation but we must cooperate to close our one eye to the Worldly reality. This is called human divine relationship where God extends his hand in the situation but we must extend our hand towards him. If we do not seek God’s hand in every situation ,that activity becomes a human activity, how good it may look like or how well we respond to it in drscipline.

The Meeting point applies in every human activity like written Scriptures, the Church, Sacraments, Statues so on. We must see the Scriptures beyond the written letters or Worldly writeups by understanding the Profile of the Writer and the Context and the Audiences. When we try to look what the Writer is telling us to say about his inspiration we can understand the real Worldly situation but we must go beyond written Scriptures, we must receive them in the same Spirit or put our legs in their shoes and apply them by reflecting and acting upon them. In Word to Word preaching we can not see complete Truth or hand of God, a half truth preached is always a lie where people confused about the true image of God.

In Prayer we must look beyond our reciting oral prayers. Rosary is such a reflective prayer where Heaven opens to the believer through the intercession of Mary , Joseph and Jesus. The reciting of repeated prayers must take us to those truths or mysteries of Heaven otherwise they remain only a lip service and no hand of God can be seen in those prayers. If we pray to statues of Jesus or Mary or Saints , our thoughts must be beyond the Worldly material which are the experiences and the inspiration and intercessions of those statues of the Holy People, otherwise we become one more idol admirer or Worshipper. The Sacraments and the Church are other Examples of looking beyond the visible things and looking at the hand of God in those activity. Liturgy is one more act of the hand of God in the Worldly action.
