He said, ‘Oh no, father Abraham,
but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
Then Abraham said, ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.

There is famous song in Bollywood , the lyrics are ..”a person in search of  success in life , reached far away from life”. The life for a human being in the World is success. The failures are taken as Sin , Curse or Hell. To achieve this success , the human starts running in a rate race of success . All actions of life pointed towards worldly success and better life.

The  Worldly success to a person who does not understand love comes from the Evil. All blessings or gifts given to a human being , to build  people in love. If the human uses these gifts or blessings for his selfish interest then these very gifts or blessings become a curse and punishment. Satan was given all the gifts so that he use them to glorify God but Pride entered in Satan and he started using these very gifts against God and made himself God. The time we use our gifts and blessings for our selfish reasons to build our own kingdom and be the boss of our own life, we resemble Satan and follow his kingdom. Satan gives Worldly wealth and Success and even educates them by giving good education to earn high profile positions and salaries to turn the human away from God’s love.So it is a wrong conception to think that the worldly successful man on this Earth is blessed by God.

People even prompted by the evil to go abroad leaving their families and children as young as six months old to become rich and imitate other so called rich people in the society. Devil comes to steal and destroy , when the head of the family is away , the evil enters the family and destroys the husband and Father’s love in a family. The Husbands run after riches of the World and lose their own Wife’s and Children.

Our Christian Vocation does not depend upon the Worldly Success or riches of this World but depend upon Christian Values or Gospel Values. The Beatitudes clearly indicate our Christian life upon this Earth. When we live the life of Beatitudes  and worldly riches follows us ,it is an indication that these riches must be used for the glory of God and for our selfish use. God provides for every Christian who follow him, either he is a family man or clergy  but God provides for the needs and not for luxury.  If he provides extra wealth, it is not for our Luxury or accumulation but for sharing and to be used to build the people of God in love and service.

If a Christian accumulates Wealth like making more than one house or building big Bank balances then it is a Sin. We are blocking the Blessings of other poor people. We are only the instrument of grace and this grace must pass on to downwards and can not be blocked by us. In a family , if one person is successful and rich and others are not , it is a clear indication that he has been blessed so that he or she must pass on that blessings to other siblings but he or she thinks of her own doing then they are robbing the blessings of their siblings. In the book of life, on the Judgement day , the Lord will ask these people of their stealing and judge for their life.

If the Church is not a sharing & loving Church , it is not from the Lord. Early Christians brought all their belongings and distributed equally among everyone. There was not a single person who was in need because no one claimed his own possession as his own but shared among everyone.

To the people who are spelled by the riches of the Devil can not understand the Ten commandments or love of God or Beatitudes. These kind of people follow God only for Worldly Blessings and success and Worldly peace and happiness. If any persecution arise due to the challenges of the Beatitudes , they run from one shrine to the other to seek the success and not to seek love. For these people if any man rises from death and warns them , they will only give names to them. This is the reason , once the man dies does not comes back to life. Even Jesus who rose from the dead was misunderstood by many religions and till today live in that misconception and stop believe  in him as a Messiah. The scientist use their knowledge to bring half truth theories and ideologies to the World to make themselves famous and for wealth, these are the inspirations of the Evil Spirits.

Why I am born in this world?

Consider your ways!

In the first reading prophet Haggai gives a message to the Israelite’s  to consider

their ways. Sometimes we forget why we are born in this World. We are so much

busy in gathering for ourselves of Worldly possessions , we forget the real mission

of our life. There is only one purpose in our life to love God and love our Neighbor

We forget our main mission in our life and go after the rat race of success and Wealth.

When we forget completely our goal of life and engage in our worldly life, we lose the

balance in our life due to the scarcity of  God’s grace and Evil shows his true colour.

Evil puts disorder in our worldly success and creates confusion through

circumstances and routine work.  When these signs are visible in our life they are the

warning bells . When we follow evil completely , evil claims his authority over our

day today  activities and puts human in to confusion and trouble . This leads us to

destruction and chaos.  when these things happen, God sends his  messengers  to

remind his people to come back to the main purpose of their life.

John the Baptist  spoke the word to King Herod who was living a worldly life with sin,

but Herod never accepted the truth. Whenever the word was spoken to him , his spirit

was disturbed but he never accepted the truth of the word but carried on with his

worldly evil life

When Calamities , disasters, Sicknesses, Death , losses happen to us unexpectedly and all

of a sudden , we must understand that there is something wrong in our life and  must

ponder  in our life and consider our ways and return to God.

ANYBODY CAN CAST OUT DEMONS,HEAL & PREACH

A person who believes in Jesus Christ is a new Creation in Christ , he no more lives by himself but Christ lives in him. By virtue we can do all things what Jesus did while Jesus was on this earth and greater things than that Jesus did on this Earth. The transformation of our life in to Jesus life is what makes the difference in our life. If we have this experience we possess the spirit of God in our Body.

In today’s readings we see Jesus sends his disciples to cast out Demons, heal the sick and preach the good news of the Jesus. Anybody who believes as Jesus is Lord and Master of their life  has authority to perform the above miracles. The Gospel writer Luke particularly puts three  main  blocks  which prevent a Human to be a New creation.

  1. Cast out demons:  Luke puts this block first in order deliberately because Evil Spirits are the major blocks in humans which try their maximum strength to prevent God’s love coming in to human soul. Therefore it is very important to perform a deliverance prayer before healing or preaching the Word of God. If we do a healing session without deliverance many sicknesses do not get healed because the cause of many sicknesses are Evil possession. We have seen in our deliverance ministry once we cast out demons from a person , the healing is automatic and instantly the person starts praising God and starts serving him without going through the session of healing or listening to the Word of God.                   People  have misconceptions  on the subject of demons , demons are basically the evil spirits which roam around for the ruin of souls. They first tempt a human , when the human responds to the temptation , the sin or egg of the evil Spirit laid in our life. If we do not confess this Sins to the mercy of God , the Egg of the evil spirit hatches the little evil spirits in our life and if we entertain these spirits by enjoying the sinful habits a bondage is built by these spirits in that area of our life, where our will and response to God’s mercy is blocked in that area. An evil spirit is a person who has  got will and Emotions . When we entertain these spirits they become part and parcel of our life. So Sin or living in Sin is a terrible thing.  For example if a person is entertaining the spirit of Laziness ,the laziness steals peace , good health, providence of our daily bread and confusion, ill health and poverty takes over our life. Now this is called bondage or one kind of possession of the Evil spirit against our will . In this stage we want to be active but something is driving us away from our Will and moral values, and we fall in to the same sin again and again. This cycle repeats again and again unless we seek the mercy of God in reconciliation and repentance. If this bondage has grown over the years , our own reconciliation process or repentance becomes difficult and we need a prayer of deliverance or must attend deliverance session conducted by the ministers of the church.                                                                                                                                   Jesus has given authority to cast out demons  to every baptized or transformed Christian. Jesus himself exercised this ministry and demons came out of a person screaming and yelling in the fear of the authority.  When we conduct retreats or evangelize  , sometimes we are not able to feel the power of the Holy spirit and miracles of Healing and transformation of hearts among the people because the bondage’s block the grace of God to enter in to human soul  . When we command Evil Spirit by the authority of Jesus , the miracles of Healing and Transformation of hearts happen instantly. So Luke puts this ministry of deliverance first through the inspiration of the Holy spirit. The church must recognize this ministry more and more and given more training in the seminary and to pastors to cast out demons before conducting any service . Anybody who is a Christian can cast out demons , Every baptized Christian by virtue is a priest, Prophet and King  to intercede, Proclaim and Exercise authority against the oppressed people. The best way to exercise the Authority by ourselves, if we feel any bondage in our lives , we must take the authority given by Jesus  to us and command that Evil Spirit to get out from our own life. This is the best and more effective of the exorcism prayer we can practice in our  own life. Parents must cast out the Evil spirits which trouble their children like bondage to the technology, spirit of Laziness so on. You need not do it loudly but do it in authority and faith in the quietness of your heart.
  2. Healing :Sickness is not a plan of God but man made. when we completely rely upon ourselves , World or Evil , the sickness or the physical system becomes faulty and stops functioning as it is suppose to function. Most of the sicknesses are caused by the Evil habits. Some are caused due to the Worldly desires like money and possessions and some are caused due to our fleshly desires like love of our body, position and pride of our heart.    Whenever we are sick , we must first pray for healing in the Authority of Jesus then go to the Doctors for medicine. In ancient time when there were no doctors or advanced medicine, people completely relied upon the healing power of God. Medicine is not an alternative of God but is a gift of God and we must not rely completely upon the medicine but must consume them from the hands of God. Some sicknesses are caused due to our ancestral connection,  these sicknesses are Sacrificial and must be taken from the hands of God for the Salvation of our ancestors and pray for the whole world. These sicknesses are a blessing in disguise , we take part in the sufferings of Christ to save the World. These sicknesses are given to only those people who are saved or in the process of Salvation. There is no explanation for these sufferings nor any biblical references, we can take the example of biblical person Mary  or Joseph who went through all suffering for the Salvation of the whole World.
  3. Preach : The good news of Jesus must be preached to the whole world. This is a Command given to every Christian who has been transformed in to Jesus likeness. if someone imitates Jesus in actions and teaches others to do the same becomes a little Jesus on this Earth. We are called out to carry on the Business of our Father in Heaven. If we evangelize others through our actions and word of God , we engage in God’s Business in our life. If a person  transforms completely in to the image of God, he or she can not follow the world or self but God alone and fully engage in the Work of love and preach the good news of Jesus to the captives.

The Gospel of Jesus is so much filled with love , gentleness , mercy , justice and                    peace, there is nothing in this World which we can compare to the Gospel. If                        someone  does not receives this message , then he or she condemn themselves                    before God for not accepting the good news. So there is no excuse after someones               death who  has not accepted Jesus the light world and preferred to live in the                         corrupt ideologies  of   this   dark world . They can say I was ignorant and did                    not know  the light of the World, then the book of life will testify the dust of every                     Evangelist who pleaded to that soul with the light of the Gospel and left behind                the dust of refusal as a testimony  of refusal. This is not to accuse or condemn the                     soul but  to  prove God’s constant act of mercy and love.

. The sense of repentance comes  by listening to the Word of God , repentance builds            faith  in Jesus who become our hope of Salvation. This hope transforms us in to love          of God . This love makes us like him on this Earth. So preaching is the primary goal            of every Christian. Church must engage people in preaching at least one hour in a                Week  .

Blessed are those who hear the word of God
and observe it. Lk 11:28

God created man in the image and likeness of God. The word of God is that image and likeness which reflect God on this Earth.  If  we live the word of God , we reflect God on this Earth. In today’s Gospel reading Jesus the word made flesh gives the title of Blessed to those who live the Word of God.

The Church titles Blessed to a person who lived the life in the Word ,before declaring him or her as Saint. We need not do many things in our life than to live as per the Word of God and become living Saints on this Earth like Mother Mary and other disciples  of Jesus.

Mysteries of the Kingdom of God are revealed to those who work on them and use them to build the Church.

For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible,
and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light.
Take care, then, how you hear.
To anyone who has, more will be given,
and from the one who has not,
even what he seems to have will be taken away.”

The Holy spirit  has been given to every person to change himself and then change others. The Holy spirit can not live in a private property but it is the love and image of God which must change our self in to the love and image of God and change others. In the first reading of today , King Cyrus who was a Pagan King listens to the message of Prophet Jeremiah and acts upon the message to build the Kingdom of God and proclaim his name in his own house first and to the end of the World. Prophet Jeremiah had to go through so many troubles in his life for the Word of God revealed to him. Half of his life was spent in Prison and  fear  of men due to his message of truth to the King and people. This  one man receives the mysteries of the kingdom of God and puts his trust in them and speaks those truth to others. When  we speak  the Word of the Spirit  of truth , the first reaction is refusal and then persecution but the the spirit of truth is like a Bore well dug in a hard and deep earth where there are all kind of odds and hardened rocks and muddy dirt and finally reaches to the spring of water which never dries even in the famine.

God reveals his mysteries to all who hear attentively to the word of God in the Scriptures, in our  personal prayer, through other matured people of wisdom , circumstances of our life , Creation and even in the common truths of other religions. If we hear them from the Lord and act upon them like King Cyrus did in his Kingly Authority , this word will accomplish its purpose in this world through us. But if we are not attentive to the Word of God in our lives and do not ponder and reflect upon it , we waste  our lives looking at the outer shell of the scriptures , Circumstances, personal messages, Creation and even take other Religions as an offence to the Word of God. God can speak anywhere even in the darkest and most troublesome and even in the so called evil acts  of our lives. We need to unfold these hidden  mysteries in these situations and throw the rubbish outer layer and take that precious pearl which wrapped in these situations of our life. Nothing happens by chance in our lives but has a definite purpose in our lives . When we reflect upon them the mystery is revealed to us.

The more we are attentive to the Spirit of God who talks to us every moment of our life and reflect and act upon his promptings , we will be shown greater mysteries of the kingdom of God and one  day whole Heaven itself, but if we concentrate on the Worldly and outer circumstances, and lose the real content of the Circumstance and argue and blame our self, God and each other, then we lose whatever given to us. It is wrong to say that the Holy spirit is taken away from us but it is a fact that we throw the source of life to the rubbish Garbage and collect the rubbish and store in our mansions to get rotten more and smell and destroy ourselves and our family and friends around us.

The word of God reveals the truths but only when we ponder and reflect on it , the only write ups  in the Bible are like reading a novel . When we ponder , study and meditate on the word of God , the outer Shell of the literacy and style peels of and real seed of the word can be seen in our eyes of faith. When this Seed applied in our lives , it sprouts to 100 fold of harvest in the Kingdom of God. All the other seeds sown in personal prayer, daily life, through our  elders, in traditions of the Church and even in in the Common truths of other Religions must be respected and received from the Hands of God and applied in the faith grounds of Charity, Holiness, discipline, ecumenism and inter religious dialogue . The people like Mother Theresa understood this Concept and built a kingdom of love on this Earth and more was given to her in  her  worldly poverty to build the kingdom of God.

The Royal Road of the Holy Cross

The Royal Road of the Holy Cross

To many the saying, “Deny thyself, take up thy cross and follow Me,”20 seems hard, but it will be much harder to hear that final word: “Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire.”21 Those who hear the word of the cross and follow it willingly now, need not fear that they will hear of eternal damnation on the day of judgment. This sign of the cross will be in the heavens when the Lord comes to judge. Then all the servants of the cross, who during life made themselves one with the Crucified, will draw near with great trust to Christ, the judge.

Why, then, do you fear to take up the cross when through it you can win a kingdom? In the cross is salvation, in the cross is life, in the cross is protection from enemies, in the cross is infusion of heavenly sweetness, in the cross is strength of mind, in the cross is joy of spirit, in the cross is highest virtue, in the cross is perfect holiness. There is no salvation of soul nor hope of everlasting life but in the cross.

Take up your cross, therefore, and follow Jesus, and you shall enter eternal life. He Himself opened the way before you in carrying His cross, and upon it He died for you, that you, too, might take up your cross and long to die upon it. If you die with Him, you shall also live with Him, and if you share His suffering, you shall also share His glory.

Behold, in the cross is everything, and upon your dying on the cross everything depends. There is no other way to life and to true inward peace than the way of the holy cross and daily mortification. Go where you will, seek what you will, you will not find a higher way, nor a less exalted but safer way, than the way of the holy cross. Arrange and order everything to suit your will and judgment, and still you will find that some suffering must always be borne, willingly or unwillingly, and thus you will always find the cross.

Either you will experience bodily pain or you will undergo tribulation of spirit in your soul. At times you will be forsaken by God, at times troubled by those about you and, what is worse, you will often grow weary of yourself. You cannot escape, you cannot be relieved by any remedy or comfort but must bear with it as long as God wills. For He wishes you to learn to bear trial without consolation, to submit yourself wholly to Him that you may become more humble through suffering. No one understands the passion of Christ so thoroughly or heartily as the man whose lot it is to suffer the like himself.

The cross, therefore, is always ready; it awaits you everywhere. No matter where you may go, you cannot escape it, for wherever you go you take yourself with you and shall always find yourself. Turn where you will–above, below, without, or within–you will find a cross in everything, and everywhere you must have patience if you would have peace within and merit an eternal crown.

If you carry the cross willingly, it will carry and lead you to the desired goal where indeed there shall be no more suffering, but here there shall be. If you carry it unwillingly, you create a burden for yourself and increase the load, though still you have to bear it. If you cast away one cross, you will find another and perhaps a heavier one. Do you expect to escape what no mortal man can ever avoid? Which of the saints was without a cross or trial on this earth? Not even Jesus Christ, our Lord, Whose every hour on earth knew the pain of His passion. “It behooveth Christ to suffer, and to rise again from the dead, . . . and so enter into his glory.”22 How is it that you look for another way than this, the royal way of the holy cross?

The whole life of Christ was a cross and a martyrdom, and do you seek rest and enjoyment for yourself? You deceive yourself, you are mistaken if you seek anything but to suffer, for this mortal life is full of miseries and marked with crosses on all sides. Indeed, the more spiritual progress a person makes, so much heavier will he frequently find the cross, because as his love increases, the pain of his exile also increases.

Yet such a man, though afflicted in many ways, is not without hope of consolation, because he knows that great reward is coming to him for bearing his cross. And when he carries it willingly, every pang of tribulation is changed into hope of solace from God. Besides, the more the flesh is distressed by affliction, so much the more is the spirit strengthened by inward grace. Not infrequently a man is so strengthened by his love of trials and hardship in his desire to conform to the cross of Christ, that he does not wish to be without sorrow or pain, since he believes he will be the more acceptable to God if he is able to endure more and more grievous things for His sake.

It is the grace of Christ, and not the virtue of man, which can and does bring it about that through fervor of spirit frail flesh learns to love and to gain what it naturally hates and shuns.

To carry the cross, to love the cross, to chastise the body and bring it to subjection, to flee honors, to endure contempt gladly, to despise self and wish to be despised, to suffer any adversity and loss, to desire no prosperous days on earth–this is not man’s way. If you rely upon yourself, you can do none of these things, but if you trust in the Lord, strength will be given you from heaven and the world and the flesh will be made subject to your word. You will not even fear your enemy, the devil, if you are armed with faith and signed with the cross of Christ.

Set yourself, then, like a good and faithful servant of Christ, to bear bravely the cross of your Lord, Who out of love was crucified for you. Be ready to suffer many adversities and many kinds of trouble in this miserable life, for troublesome and miserable life will always be, no matter where you are; and so you will find it wherever you may hide. Thus it must be; and there is no way to evade the trials and sorrows of life but to bear them.

Drink the chalice of the Lord with affection it you wish to be His friend and to have part with Him. Leave consolation to God; let Him do as most pleases Him. On your part, be ready to bear sufferings and consider them the greatest consolation, for even though you alone were to undergo them all, the sufferings of this life are not worthy to be compared with the glory to come.

When you shall have come to the point where suffering is sweet and acceptable for the sake of Christ, then consider yourself fortunate, for you have found paradise on earth. But as long as suffering irks you and you seek to escape, so long will you be unfortunate, and the tribulation you seek to evade will follow you everywhere. If you put your mind to the things you ought to consider, that is, to suffering and death, you would soon be in a better state and would find peace.

Although you were taken to the third heaven with Paul, you were not thereby insured against suffering. Jesus said: “I will show him how great things he must suffer for My name’s sake.”23 To suffer, then, remains your lot, if you mean to love Jesus and serve Him forever.

If you were but worthy to suffer something for the name of Jesus, what great glory would be in store for you, what great joy to all the saints of God, what great edification to those about you! For all men praise patience though there are few who wish to practice it.

With good reason, then, ought you to be willing to suffer a little for Christ since many suffer much more for the world.

Realize that you must lead a dying life; the more a man dies to himself, the more he begins to live unto God.

No man is fit to enjoy heaven unless he has resigned himself to suffer hardship for Christ. Nothing is more acceptable to God, nothing more helpful for you on this earth than to suffer willingly for Christ. If you had to make a choice, you ought to wish rather to suffer for Christ than to enjoy many consolations, for thus you would be more like Christ and more like all the saints. Our merit and progress consist not in many pleasures and comforts but rather in enduring great afflictions and sufferings.

If, indeed, there were anything better or more useful for man’s salvation than suffering, Christ would have shown it by word and example. But He clearly exhorts the disciples who follow Him and all who wish to follow Him to carry the cross, saying: “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”24

When, therefore, we have read and searched all that has been written, let this be the final conclusion–that through much suffering we must enter into the kingdom of God.
