Lent- Time of God’s Favour- Kairos.

Kairos- now is the time [kairos] of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

Lent comes and goes every year, Church calls us for repentence and we try to avoid certain external visible things which has been seen by everybody and the 40 days of lent are over and we are back to the same old rut of life. This is the lifestyle of most of the Catholics or Christians in general in our modern World.

Why the Church invites us for a special period called Lent? Lent infact is not a mourning or sad time but a time of rejoicing and celebration, because in Lent ,God visits his people. The Bridegroom comes to visit the Bride , it is a time of great renewal of hearts. When Bridegroom comes to visit the Bride, the Bride must be joyful and full of love because God wants to be one with his people.

God knocks at the door of our life every moment of our life but in the time of Lent , he not only Knocks but cries out in a loud voice with love songs and intercessions. Lent is a time of Honeymoon with our Lord because he is with us in daily rich Liturgy, Word of God, Retreats, Prayer, charity and forgiveness.

Lent is a time of God’s favour, when we struggle with any particular area in which we require a help from others, Lent is the time of that help. Our help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and Earth. The help may come through People of God, who help in our weaknesses , we must be ready and willing to take this favour from God.

Lent is a time of Salvation. During this time of Lent , it is good to examine our life and ask a question to ourself, Am I realy saved? Tonight if the Lord calls me, am I ready to receive him and am I ready for his Judgement ?or do I need to forgive someone in my life? In the time of Lent , Jesus comes insearch of us like he spotted Zachaeus and went to his house to dine or like Mathew who was called from tax collection post.

Lent is a time to encounter Jesus face to face. Just like the two desciples who were travelling from Jerusalem to Emmaus in disappointment and depression, Jesus meets them on the way and burns their heart with his presence ,through Scriptures , Eucharist and they encountered Jesus face to face and came out from all disappintment and depression and returned to Jesmrusalem with full if zeal and hope.

Lent is a time of great revival and a time to reconcile our relationship with God and one another. Just like the Pridigal Father, waits for his Son to return , God the Father waits for us to return to him so that we may receive back all that we have lost and enjoy in his Lordship in the Kingdom of God. Lord expects that yes from us so that he can do the rest in our life.

Temptations are the tests of a True Christian

Are Temptations good for a Christian?If we go through the history from Creation till now , all the great people of God including Jesus were tested and made holy through the trials and temptations. God does not tempt but God leads us to confront the Temptations. This is a Spiritual Warfare between God’s Children and the Evil . The Evil challenges God’s Children ( Human Beings) to fight him but the fight is not of Physical but Spiritual battle .

The Spiritual battle is fought not with Worldly or fleshly or intellectual power but with the Spirit of God.God accepts the challenge and empowers his Children with his Spirit to fight the Evil on this Earth.

The Evil disguises in the form of Flesh, World and in human form and tricks humans with evil Schemes, but God through his Spirit gives wisdom and knowledge to the human to desern the Works of the Evil and reject his Schemes with the Armour of God.

This Spiritual Battle is life long and does not get over till our physical death. God wants us to be victorious against the devil and has given us the Holyspirit through Jesus Christ . Holyspirit is the flag of Victory over Evil in the plan of Salvation, which Jesus accomplished by dying on the Cross.

No human can fight this battle without the help of the Holyspirit. Human inteligence, Self Will and education gives us an idea of Evil and for some extent, through the corrupted image of God of our Concience, we try to fight the Evil, but since our Concience has corrupted by the Evil and our faculties fail to respond fully and fight back,due to the influence of the Evil one in our life.

The Baptism of the Holyspirit renews a Corrupted Soul and transforms it to the fresh image of God and all our faculties get influenced through the Holyspirit . When Evil comes with his temptations with any forms, the body , mind and Spirit recognises the Evil and resists the temptations immediately. The Holyspirit empowers us through the Church, Sacraments and the Word of God. This is the reason when a human is in constant relationship with the Holyspirit , the Temptations are tackled like a tricky question of the test.

The Evil does not accept his defeat and tries in all means to tempt the children of God on this Earth, but God bestows his grace and gift of faith on people and prepares them to fight the Evil and be Victorious.

Jesus has won the Victory against the Evil through his death and resurection and accomplished the Salvation. Jesus could have recovered his Kingdom immediately after his Victory over Satan but he wants to teach his children to be victorious through his power of Salvation and exercise their free will against the Evil and wim their induvidual salvation. Jesus is not fetching us with fish but teaching us how to fish so that they are dignified and identified as his Children not only through his image but through his merits.

Why a Christian must Fast?

Fasting is an act of self-denial. When the flesh craves to fulfil the desires, fasting or disciplining our five senses of taste, touch, sight, smell and hearing puts the flesh on the back seat and the Spirit takes over our body and fulfils Gods plan in our life. All fleshly desires coming from the flesh, how good they may look like, they are the agents of Evil unless the flesh is led by the spirit.  The true fasting must be done by disciplining all the five senses.

When we deny our self and carry the Cross of love in our lives, Jesus becomes our spouse and Lord of our lives. When the spirit of God takes over our lives, our prayer, our protection, our justification comes from the Lord because our actions are not directed by fleshly desires but from Gods spirit himself.

Does self- denial mean to detest all things and sit in the monastery? May be for a period of forty days may help us to discipline our senses theoretically on the desk top but practical workshop must be done in the field work like in our families, communities, work places. When we implement our self-denial in these places, we will be like people who do true fasting as Isiah states in the first reading.

Christian Fasting is far different than other fasting’s of this Worldly ways of life. A true Christian denies the temptations of the flesh, World and Devil by fasting and prayer. When we fast in this way, even Devil submits to the Holy spirit who dwells in us. All our prayers are heard, and we are in the protection and guidance of the Holy spirit.

When we are with Jesus in the Heavenly realm, we need not fast, but this will be only possible when Jesus takes us along with him in glory. While we are on this Earth we must fast daily from Flesh, World and resist the Devil and his schemes to be holy and acceptable to God.

Ja jūs ar savu muti paziņojat: „Jēzus ir Kungs,” un ticiet savai sirdij, ka Dievs viņu uzmodināja no miroņiem, jūs būsiet glābti. 10 Jo ar tavu sirdi jūs ticat un esat pamatoti, un ar savu muti jūs atzīstat savu ticību un esat pestīti.

Mēs esam dzimuši grēkā, un mēs augam grēka spēkā. Mēs neko nemācām vai izglītojam, lai pateiktu meli vai nozagtu mums kaut ko dārgu. Kā mēs augam mūsu ķermenī un intelekts, mūsu SIN spēks arī mūsos aug. Kad mēs bijām bērni, mēs darījām mazus grēkus, bet, augot, mūsu grēki ir lielāki. No kurienes visi ļaunie bija un kas ir atbildīgi par mūsu grēcīgo dabu. Mēs vēlamies būt labi, bet mums ir spēks, kas liek mums darīt sliktu. Ja mēs redzam, ka vēsturē daudzi intelektuāļi mēģināja pārvarēt SIN ar savu gribu un disciplīnas dzīvi, bet jautājums ir, vai viņi ir iekarojuši Sinu no saknes. SIN ir kā Nezāles, jo vairāk mēs izkļūstam, jo vairāk tas parādījās no nekurienes. Kad mēs izmantojam Weed Killer, vecie nezāļi mirst, bet jauns Weed sāk augt, kuram Nezāļu slepkava nav izgudrojis anti dote.Šis cikls turpinās un turpinās, un nevienam nav risinājuma. Ļaunuma spēks ir mūsu asinīs, kas mums ir mantojis no mūsu senči. no mūsu dzīves. Mēs neesam atbildīgi par šo grēcīgo dabu, tāpēc mums nav jācieš vainīgi par mūsu grēcīgo dabu. Kāds ir risinājums, risinājums nāk no Dieva, Jēzus Kristus solījums.Vārds Jēzus pats izskaidro, tas, kurš glābj, un Kristus nozīmē svaidītu. mums ar Holyspirit.
Jēzus Kristus ir grēka dabas pretdote. Kā mēs mantojām grēcīgo dabu mūsu asinīs, tāpat kā Jēzus Kristus atņem mūsu Sinfull dabu caur savu nāvi uz Krusta. Pēc viņa atjaunošanas Jēzus mums dod jaunu dzīvi, svaidot mūs caur Holīpirītu. Šis glābšanas akts ir brīvs tiem, kas tic, ka Jēzus Kristus ir Kungs un nomira par mūsu grēkiem un pieaudzis no miroņiem, lai dotu mums jaunu dzīvi Holyspiritā. Tas ir Evaņģēlija Centrālais vēstījums, un katram šīs pasaules indivīdam ir jāsaņem šis vēstījums, pirms tā kaut ko dara savā dzīvē.

Mēs daudz darām savā dzīvē, bet, ja SIN valda mūsu dzīvē, visas lietas, ko mēs esam ieguvuši mūsu dzīvē, ir lieli atkritumi. Jo lielāki ir darbi vai sapņi vai vīzijas ar grēcīgu dabu, jo lielāks ir atkritumu kaste. Daudzas lietas šajā pasaulē var izskatīties labi mums, bet, ja mēs atspoguļojam šo ļoti labo lietu mērķi, ir grēcīgs vai savtīgs raksturs. Persona, kas ir dzimusi no Gara un patiesības vai izglābta no grēka spēka, var atšķirt tikai atšķirību starp labu un sliktu.

Pestīšana nav sarežģīta, bet vieglāka un vienkāršāka nekā SIN mantojums. Kad mēs ticam Jēzum un dzīvojam Viņam, Jēzus Gars ļauj mums dzīvot Garā. Holyspirit ir Counter Nature for Sin.Ja mums nav jēgas vai pamudinot Holyspirit mūsu dzīvē, tas ir ļoti grūti pretoties grēkam mūsu dzīvē.

Jēzus ir Alfa un Omega un paņēmis visus grēkus no lielgabala līdz pašam galam un nomira par visu pasauli, tāpēc mums nav grēka, cik daudz niecīga vai liela tā varētu izskatīties, grēks jau ir anulēts vai dezaktivēts caur Jēzus nāvi un atjaunošanu. Ja mēs ticam šim faktam un padarīsim Jēzu mūsu Kungu un Skolotāju, mēs esam no SIN spēka un mēs esam glābti no Nāves spēka. Šajā posmā cilvēki mīl un piedod, fiziskie un pasaules notikumi nav vērtīgi, bet izskatās kā nevēlams atkritumu. Pasaules bagātākie cilvēki izskatās kā atkritumu savācēji un cilvēki, kas ir nabadzīgi un pazemīgi novērtēti kā augsta.

Daudzi pasaules guru mēģināja atcelt grēku ar savu izpratni par daudzām reliģijām vai labākiem dzīves veidiem, bet neviens nevarēja iznīcināt vai izjaukt grēku no tā saknēm. Viņi tika izraidīti no vienas paaudzes, bet SIN turpināja nākamo paaudzi. Jēzus bija veiksmīgs, jo viņš bija vienīgā Atbildes Grāmatā iekļautā Atbilde pirms Zemes dibināšanas.

Šajā Zemē ir tikai viena lieta, kas cilvēkam jādara, ir ticēt Jēzum savā Sirdī un atzīt savā mutē, ka viņš ir nomiris egles mūsu grēkus un atkal pieaudzis, lai dotu mums jaunu dzīvi. Šis ir vienīgais mērķis, ko cilvēks ir dzimis šajā Zemē, pārējās lietas nozīmē tikai tad, ja mēs esam glābti no grēka un sātana. Tas ir iemesls, kāpēc evaņģēlija izplatīšana tiem, kas ir izglābti, ir ārkārtīgi svarīga nekā mūsu pašu ģimeņu vai mājokļu veidošana. Visu cilvēku galvenais un vislielākais aicinājums ir glābt sevi no SIN, padarot Jēzu par savu personīgo Pestītāju, un otrā lielākā daļa izplata pestīšanas labās ziņas mūsu ģimenei, freindiem, kaimiņiem un visai pasaulei. Bet paliek jautājums par mūsu personīgo pārdomas AM I SAVED …
